Surprisingly the average isnt that far off, a year or two. When it comes to stars though NBA players have a lot more longevity, unless you're a quarterback.

Why can’t what be both? I don’t see the point in being loyal to an NBA team when I’m a much bigger fan of individual players and teams constantly change. Plus I never had a local team growing up so there is no hometown loyalty for me either. And just in general basketball is the team sport where one star player makes by far the biggest difference.
