今天來學習英語的句子，它分為三類：簡單句(Simple Sentence)、並列句(Compound Sentence)和複合句(Complex Sentence)。
簡單句分為三種：
第一種是主語加謂語。如：
My canary sings.我的金絲雀唱歌。
第二種是並列主語加謂語。如：
My canary and the mockingbird outside sings.
我的金絲雀和外面的藍嘲鶇唱歌。
第三種是主語加並列謂語。如：
My canary sings and chirps.
我的金絲雀唱歌和嘰嘰喳喳叫。
並列句
由並列連詞連接兩個句子。如：
My canary sings, but your parrot talks. （由連詞but連接兩個句子）
我的金絲雀唱歌，但是你的鸚鵡說話。
再來看一個例子：
Jake rode his bike, but Matt walked.
由連詞but連接兩個句子。前面的句子是Jake rode his bike；後面的句子是 Matt walked。
Matt ate pancakes, and he ate bacon.
由連詞and連接兩個句子。前面的句子是Matt ate pancakes；後面的句子是 he ate bacon。
並列句練習
將圖中的兩個簡單句變為一個並列句。
解題思路：
簡單句
I like pizza.我喜歡比薩。
I like spaghetti.我喜歡意大利麵。
可以看出，這兩個相同的地方是I like，後面的兩個詞都是食物，所以我們可以把兩句話變為：
I like pizza and spaghetti.
但這句話不是並列句，但還是簡單句。
要變為並列句，應該是有兩個句子，即
I like pizza and I like spaghetti.
由連詞and連接兩個句子。
注意：
連接並列句的連詞包括and, but, for, nor, or, so, yet等。
下圖給出了簡單句和並列句的區別，左邊是簡單句，右邊是並列句。
簡單句：表達一個完整的想法；包括一個主語、謂語動詞和賓語。
如:Joe swam in the swimming pool.Joe在游泳池裡游泳。
並列句：由連詞連接兩個簡單句。
連詞有：for, and, not, but, or, yet, so.
如:Joe swam in the swimming pool, and then ate lunch.Joe在游泳池裡游泳，然後吃了午飯。

上面講了簡單句和並列句，下面來看複合句。
複合句
由主句和從句構成，如：
Although my canary sings, your parrot can only talk.（由although連接兩個句子）
雖然我的金絲雀唱歌，但是你的鸚鵡只會說話。
Despite the fact that your parrot talks,it cannot sing. （由despite連接兩個句子）
不管你的鸚鵡能說話這個事實，它不能唱歌。
練習：
下面句子屬於什麼句子，簡單句、並列句還是複合句？
Since I won't be able to attend the party, I'll just send my gift with you.
I want my friend to sleep over, but my family has other plans.
第1個句子Since I won't be able to attend the party, I'll just send my gift with you.中有從屬連詞since，所以它是複合句complex。
第2個句子I want my friend to sleep over, but my family has other plans.中有並列連詞but，所以它是並列句compound。
下面這個句子是什麼句子呢？大家來自己做一下吧。
最後再拓展一個小知識，有的把句子類型分為4種，除了簡單句、並列句和複合句，還分了一個並列複合句(Compound-Complex Sentences)。
並列複合句
Rufus loves Roxis because she is adorable, and she defers to him.
這個句子由並列連詞and連接兩個句子，但是and前一個句子中還有一個由because引導的原因狀語從句。
