緊急迫降

A Sichuan Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a window in its cockpit (駕駛艙) blew out, reported China Daily. A pilot was sucked (吸) halfway out of the plane when the window broke. Luckily, Liu Chuanjian, the captain, landed the plane safely with no passenger injuries (受傷). Liu has since been praised by social media users around the world as a “hero”.
據《中國日報》報道，5月14日川航3U8633航班在駕駛艙玻璃碎裂，副駕駛半身吸出窗外的情況下，最終成功完成緊急迫降，乘客無人受傷。機長劉傳建也被網友們稱為稱為“英雄機長”。（戳這裡回顧）

Chinese e-Sports team Royal Never Give Up claimed their first world championship at the 2018 League of Legends (LOL) Mid-season Invitational (MSI) in Paris on May 20, reported Xinhua News Agency. They beat the South Korean team KINGZONE DragonX by 3-1 in the final. Established in 2015, MSI is an annual (年度的) LOL tournament (錦標賽), second only to World Champions.
據新華社報道，5月20日，中國RNG戰隊在於法國巴黎舉行的2018年英雄聯盟季中冠軍賽決賽中以3:1擊敗韓國KZ戰隊，首奪世界大賽冠軍。這也是中國戰隊繼2015年首屆季中冠軍賽後再奪英雄聯盟世界大賽冠軍。

The US birth rate recently dropped to a record 30-year low, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Experts are afraid this will cause a “demographic time bomb”, meaning less young people will be available (可利用的) to replace older workers in the future. Meanwhile, more and more elderly (年老的) people are needing the care of young people.
據美國疾病控制與預防中心發佈的數據顯示，美國嬰兒出生率降至30年來最低。專家擔憂這可能導致“人口定時炸彈”，即未來可以替代老年勞動力的年輕人變少。這也意味著有越來越多的老年人口需要年輕人照顧。
