The temperature is how hot or cold something is.
溫度是形容某個物體多熱或多冷的。
We use a thermometer to measure the temperature of something.
我們用溫度計來測量某個物體的溫度。
Temperature is usually measured in degrees.
溫度經常用degree來度量。
The ° symbol after a number means degrees.
數字後加個°就是degree
30° = thirty degrees
There are two main systems used for measuring temperature:
主要有兩種表示溫度的系統
°F = degrees Fahrenheit (used in United States) 華氏溫度（用於美國）
°C = degrees Celsius (used in the rest of the world) 攝氏溫度 （用於世界上的其它國家）
When talking about the temperature we normally use:
當我們討論溫度時，我們一般用：
It + is/was/will be + 形容詞
It is chilly today.
It was warm yesterday.
It will be cold tomorrow.
The temperatures given are only an approximation to give you an idea of when to use them.
下面給出的溫度只是給你一個怎麼使用的概念。
28°C (or more) - Hot 熱
15 to 28°C - Warm 溫暖
10 to 15°C - Cool 涼爽
5 to 10°C - Chilly 有點冷
0 to 5°C - Cold 冷
0°C (or less) - Freezing 冰凍
Remember, what is hot in one country may only be considered warm in another.
記住，在一個國家的熱可能在其它國家被認為是溫暖。
What may be chilly in one country may be freezing in another.
而在一個國家的有點冷在另一個國家可能是冰凍。
The following words refer to being MORE than hot and are used for temperatures over 30°C.
下面這些詞是指比hot的程度更熱, 並且經常用於30°C以上的溫度。
Boiling: very hot, often used in negative contexts 非常熱，經常用於貶義。
Humid: hot and damp. It makes you sweat a lot 熱且溼。會讓你流很多汗。
Muggy: warm and damp in an unpleasant way 令人不愉快地溫暖且溼
Scorching: very hot, often used in positive contexts 非常熱，經常用於褒義。
Stifling: hot and you can hardly breath 熱，且難以呼吸。
Sweltering: hot and uncomfortable 熱且不舒服。
