印度’公司銀行’副總經理JP諾提亞爾的語言研究顯示，作為全球最廣泛使用的語言，印地語輕鬆地擊敗了普通話。按照諾提亞爾的研究結果，講印地語的人數為12億，而普通話次之，人數為10.5億。“講印地語的人數一直穩定上升，而講普通話的人數增長緩慢，” 諾提亞爾說。諾提亞爾還是’城鎮官方語言落實委員會’的秘書成員。他還闡明一些有趣的事實。他指出，世界人口為7,02,88,91,239，而懂得印地語的總人數為1,20,73,93,250，這意味著世界上6個人中就有一個懂印地語。

And just for your information, while searching for papers, I have not only found them in chinese, but in Indonesian and sometimes in Iranian too and all are technical./ science papers. Obviously Chinese at least can’t be called with least number of alphabets. Any Idea of the language publication of science in Germany and France? The German language has the stokes, dots,.. on top bottom and elsewhere. The fanatics (including me) teach them in English due to our slave mentality.
And if you think the language of science is English… think again.. as per a study done by University of Columbia, though the majority of papers are in English, however the growth of other language (non-English) are significantly more than English.

Also a person speaking harvanyi, punjabi, rajasthani, etc can easily understand one common language i.e. standard hindi. So i think here hindustani should be used, instead of hindi, which most of indians normally speak

Rakesh Kumar•1480• • Pranav Jain•Unknown•I don’t know if you are treating every language being used in India as Hindustani or the specific Hindustani languages which is a mixture of Hindi and Urdu .Second no one here is speaking about Punjabi and 1st if you have talked with peoples who speak haryanvi bihari bhojpuri maithli braj …they have most of the word use same and being taken from hindi with passes of time like in japanese the core structure of their language i.e kanji is taken from chinese.
P.S : its not hindustani what most people speak its hindi.
我不知道你是把每一種印度使用的語言都當作印度斯坦語，還是那特指的印度斯坦語，也就是印地語和烏爾都語的混合。第二是沒人在這兒說旁遮普語，而且首先如果你跟講哈亞尼、比哈爾、博傑普爾語（比哈爾方言）、梅斯利、布拉吉語的人談過話…他們，隨著時間的推移，大多數詞彙取自印地語、用法相同，就象日本語的核心結構，也就是漢字，取自中文一樣。

I live in Canada and there are a lot of people of Indian origin in Canada who are from the Caribbean (West Indies). Mostly Guyana, Trinidad etc. and none of them speak Hindi. They like to watch Hindi movies though with English subtitles. There are also some from Africa and Mauritius and they don’t speak any Hindi either. Even some of the Sikhs can’t speak Hindi very well (not the ones that were born in Canada). Hindi is spoken on the Indian sub continent only. I am not sure how you are saying that Hindi is becoming a universal language.
非常奇怪的說法。印地語怎麼可能成為一種世界通用語?？我生活在加拿大，有許多來自加勒比地區（西印度群島）的印裔在加拿大。絕大多數來自圭也那、特立尼達等地。而他們誰也不講印地語。儘管他們喜歡看有英文字幕的印地語電影。還有一些來自非洲和毛里求斯，他們也是一點印地語都不會講。甚至有些錫克族人都講不好印地語（不是那些出生在加拿大的）。印地語只在印度次大陸使用。我搞不明白你怎麼會說印地語正在變成一種世界通用語言。
