產檢數次都沒有發現孕婦懷的是個畸形兒……

However, his mother then had a more detailed 5D ultrasound at a different clinic when she was six months pregnant.

Medics there raised possibility of abnormalities, but Rodrigo’s aunt said he dismissed their concerns.

“He explained that sometimes some parts of the face are not visible (on ultrasounds)... when the baby’s face is glued to the belly of the mother,” Rodrigo’s aunt told a local broadcaster.

"There is strong evidence" of the doctor's negligence, which "may lead to a disciplinary sanction", Alexandre Valentim Lourenco, medical council chief for the southern region told broadcaster RTP.
負責南部地區的醫療委員會主任亞歷山大·瓦倫丁·洛倫科告訴RTP電視臺，“有強有力的證據”表明醫生翫忽職守，“可能會導致紀律處分”。
Given the impact of this case, which "has repercussions on the reputation of doctors" and "to reassure pregnant women", he said the suspension was necessary to evaluate the complaints.

Rodrigo’s parents were told he would only survive a few hours because of his abnormalities, but more than two weeks on, he is still alive under care at Sao Bernardo Hospital in Setubal.

On Facebook, David shared a photo of himself passing the adorned bub into his doting mother's arms with a strategically placed baby emoji over little Rodrigo’s face. He captioned the touching image with a crown and love heart emoji, proving just how devastating a situation their family is in.
