一、though和although的區別
1. although較正式，語氣強；though較常用。現代英語中兩者可隨意換用。如：Though he was tired, he went on working. =Although he was tired, he went on working.
2. although和though引導的從句放在主句前後均可，有時還可放在句中。如：He often helps me with my English (al)though he is quite busy. 儘管他相當忙，但是還常常幫我學英語。Although many difficulties are still ahead, we are determined to make greater achievements. 儘管在前面的道路上還有許多困難，但是，我們決心要取得更大的成就。
3. although/though引導的從句不能與but/however連用，但可與yet/still連用。不能說：Though he was old, but he worked hard. 應把but去掉。當然，保留but而去Though也可。
4. though有時指假設的情況，不指事實，從句用虛擬語氣；although不能這樣用。如：Einstein cared little for money, though he could have been very rich. 儘管愛因斯坦本可以成為非常富有的人，但他對金錢卻不感興趣。(though引導的情況是假設的而不是事實）He will never do such a thing though he (should) be forced to. 即使強迫他，他也決不會幹這樣的事。（注意：不能用is）
5. though引導的從句，可用倒裝語序，即把從句中的表語或狀語放到though之前；although卻不能這樣用。如：Young though she is, yet she is fit for the job. （=Young as she is, yet she is fit for the job.）儘管她很年輕，可她還是勝任這項工作的。
6. though從句的主謂語若是系表結構時，可以省略從句主語和be動詞。如：Though alone, he is happy. 雖然他獨自一人，卻很幸福。注意：Though loving him, I can not help him. 是錯句。因為從句不是be構成的系表結構作謂語。應改為：Though I love him, I can not help him. 或 Though fond of him, I can not help him.
7. though還可與別的詞結合使用，如even though, as though等；although則無這種搭配功能。如：I'll go and help them even though I stop my work. 即使我停下自己的活不幹，我也要去幫助他們。
8. though還可作並列連詞，相當於and yet（然而，可是），它引導的分句常對另一分句起補充說明作用；although則無這種用法。如：I wouldn't like to go to the evening, though they will invite me to. 我不想去參加晚會，可是他們要請我去。They now can do most of the things people can do, though most scientists agree that computers can not completely take the place of humans. 人們能做的大部分工作，計算機現在都能做，然而大多數科學家認為，計算機並不能完全代替人類。
9. though可用作副詞，放在詞尾。although卻不可這樣用。如：He said he would come, he didn't, though. 他說要來卻沒來。
二、as的用法
一，副詞adv：
1. 跟...一樣地,同樣地 例如:I'm as tall as him 我和他一樣高。
2. 如同;例如 例如:There are lots of famous buildings as the Eiffel Tower and the Arch of Triumph. 這裡有許多著名建築如埃菲爾鐵塔和凱旋門。
二，介詞prep：
1. 作為,以...的身份 例如:He works as a tour guide. 他作為導遊工作。
2. 當作 例如:She is a famous person as a actress. 作為一個女演員,她很出名
3. 像;如同 例如:The old woman was dressed as a young lady. 這位老婦人打扮得像一位年輕人。
三，連接詞conj：
1. 像...一樣；依照；像 例如:You ought to do as Paul tells you. 你應按照保羅吩咐的做。
2. 當...時 例如:As she was leaving the room she remembered that book. 她離開房間時想起了那本書。
3. 隨著 例如:As the sun rose the fog dispersed. 太陽一出來,霧隨之消失。
4. 因為 例如:We didn't know what to do as we were just visiting there. 我們不知道該怎麼辦，因為當時我們僅僅在那裡作訪問。
5. 雖然 例如:Tired as he was, he stayed up late. 他雖然疲倦，可仍然很晚才睡。
6.儘管 例如：Try as she might,Sue couldn't get the door open.儘管想盡一切辦法，蘇還是不能打開那扇門
四，代詞pron:
1. (與such,the same,as等連用,引導關係從句)與...相同的事物(或人) 例如:
He has earned as much money as I have. 他賺的錢和我賺的一樣多。
2. (引導從句,對前述內容作補充)本情況,該事實 例如:She has married again, as was expected. 她已再婚,這是意料中的事。

1. =Anglo-Saxon 盎格魯-撒克遜人;盎格魯-撒克遜語;盎格魯-撒克遜人的;盎格魯-撒克遜語的
2. =antisubmarine 反潛艇的
3. =Asia 亞洲;亞細亞
4. =Asian 亞洲的;亞洲人;亞洲人的
六，英語中as……as的用法:
(1) 在否定句中，第一個 as 也可換成 so。
(2) 在該結構的兩個as之間通常接形容詞或副詞的原級，但若涉及數量或程度，可用“as much+不可數名詞+as”和“as many+複數名詞+as”。
I haven’t got as much money as I thought. 我不像原來想像的有那麼多錢。
(3) 第二個as後接從句時，該as通常為連詞，但有時這個as還充當其後從句的主語或賓語，此時該as實為關係代詞。如：
I gave him as much as he could eat. 他能吃多少，我就給了他多少。
(4) 該結構根據情況可用使用以下修飾語。如：(not) nearly, almost, just, nothing like, exactly, not quite, half, one-ten, twice, three times, 30 per cent等，並且這些修飾語必須置於第一個as之前，而不能置於其後。
