B&B Italia is back at itf milan, showcasing the entire interior, including living and dining rooms. The first table designed by Michael Anastassiades for B&B Italia, the design concept stems from two delicate aluminum strips that connect the two side supports. Seeking minimalism is often accompanied by the need to find cutting-edge technology solutions, and Parallel Structure is a perfect example. In order to respect the purity of the project, the brand pays close attention to the details of the joints, namely the shape and the cleanliness of the components and the relationship between the different materials.

The legs are solid wood, and the side supports – the sills that connect the colored aluminum bars – the hidden metal core provides rigidity and brightness to the structure. The collection includes countertops in two sizes and different materials: Canaletto walnut with minimalist aesthetics and oak in four colours - light, grey, black and smoked, or glass countertops that enhance the aesthetics of the process with transparency. This table creates a pure and holistic existence that uses minimalism to discard all the extra things. Starting with the name, Parallel Structure is a product that naturally integrates architecture into the design field.

After a huge success last year, the Jack bookshelf system returned to the public eye, expanding the new structure, finishes and corresponding modules. In addition to the vertical placement from floor to ceiling, Anastassiades also designed a pole that is fixed to the wall, making the Jack shelf suitable for all spaces that do not provide vertical fixation for the bookcase. At the same time as the new structure (up to 330 cm in height) was born, the ever-increasing stack of bookshelves combined with newer, deeper shelves and storage elements such as drawers and flip doors. The precise technical solution for the flip door includes an interesting cable rolling system and an elegant hinge that passes through the door.

The B&B Italia 2019 collection features a Pablo seat designed by Vincent Van Duysen. Its strength lies in its comfort and robustness, and the combination of the two plays a major role in the integration of product aesthetics and structure. Pablo's cushions feature a double leather layer and lightweight padding. The seat cushion is almost invisible, but it ensures comfort. The depth of the seat and the slightly sloping front make the overall shape even more appealing: Pablo uses a new proportion, accurate to the millimeter, making this chair an innovative meeting point between the armchair and the chaise longue. Its structure surrounds the chair and floats. When it is installed in the backrest and inserted into the armrest, it seems to have a sense of flight.

In addition, B&B Italia also launched the 50th Anniversary Special Edition of the warm beige and green two-tone stripe version to pay tribute to the color version originally introduced in 1969.

Apollo is a new line of upholstered furniture designed by Antonio Citterio for Maxalto. The collection consists of three sofas, combined with beautiful and rigorous curves that make each part unique and create a harmony between curve and linearity. In this fluency, Apollo's geometry is particularly comfortable, and the corners allow the chair to fit more closely with the user's body. At first glance, the cushions of the seat and cushion, the height of the backrest, the lack of the sofa feet and the large seat depth are some of the elements that Apollo has received attention. The stitched details of the stitched surface are detailed on the knitted surface, while the leather surface is finished with delicate envelope stitching. Apollo stands out for its clear, concise shape.

The Tesaurus series of exquisite storage units by Antonio Citterio continues the Maxalto's history. Its shape highlights the product's excellent craftsmanship. Start by opening the curved wooden door to reveal a slightly protruding partition and connected storage shelves. The Tesaurus comes in three different heights and widths, with two or four doors, as well as drawers and clamshell doors. Its base is a die-cast aluminum structure designed by the Caratos chair, while the elements above are black and white roots, caracta white or imperial marble countertops. The interior is decorated with delicate frise maple wood. Luxurious parchment or wood finishes show exquisite craftsmanship. The design of the cabinets is composed of interlaced latticework and cross-grain of oak or mahogany from Chile.

Laying parchment is a long and delicate process that requires professional artisans trained to respect the nature of the material. Over time, the surface of the parchment matures, as does the wine itself, gaining a complex interlacing of new hues after the transformation. Thanks to the intricate craftsmanship that goes into making it, the Tesaurus is incredibly valuable. Each piece in this series is unique. They are hard to imitate and truly exclusive.

Maxalto's new Dike bed stands out for its special size on the headboard. This unique element has created a new category of furniture. Antonio Citterio designed two panels, each 2 meters high and 125 cm wide, with two moving parts at the rear. The panel is secured by an elegant hinge, which makes it an exaggerated background that makes the interior look more refined. Dike uses a specially designed fabric that has a stronger three-dimensional feel and a visible texture similar to a woven horizontal tapestry, allowing the visual effects of light and color to interact. The height of the bed is important and follows the precise concept that the bedroom should have. The same series of fabrics can cover the bed and headboard. The entire extended design is innovative, luxurious and refined.
