Idiom
是個英文單詞，有人譯作“成語”、也有人譯作“習語”。國外出版的英語成語詞典不僅包括成語，還包括一些俚語、口頭語和格言（或諺語）。
英語成語長短不一，不像漢語成語那樣工整。跟漢語成語一樣，英語成語也是約定俗成的。英語成語簡潔、生動、與眾不同，是英語語言的生命和精神所在。英語成語的含義是很難用單詞替代的。英語成語雖然與英語考試的關係不大，但是非常實用。
