We are very grateful to them.
In the rest of the world we are treated like lepers; the EU has fined us almost € 7 million just one day after they made an “emotional speech” claiming that Europe will stand with Italy as it battles to halt the spread of the new corona virus.
I know we made a mistake so we must pay. Nevertheless, what I think is not fair nor consistent is the timing and the fining us just one day after their speech! Honestly, in my opinion, the EU should be embarrassed with their two faces.
China, Cuba, Russia and other States that are generally seen with the lens of prejudices and stereotypes — don’t be mad at me, I was not trying to offend anyone — helped us in this difficult period.
China sent a team of nine doctors with some 30 tonnes of equipment on a flight organized by the Chinese Red Cross, while European Union refused Rome's requests for help with medical supplies as they looked to stockpile face masks and other equipment.
I hope when it’s all finished, Italians could open their eyes and review their ideas about who is worth it and who’s not.

“Last month, when COVID-19 began spreading rapidly in Italy, the country appealed for help via the Emergency Response Coordination Centre. ‘We asked for supplies of medical equipment, and the European Commission forwarded the appeal to the member states,’ Italy’s permanent representative to the EU, Maurizio Massari, told me. ‘But it didn’t work.’
So far, not a single EU member state has sent Italy the needed supplies. That’s tragic for a country with 21,157 coronavirus infections and 1,441 deaths as of March 14, and with medical staff working under severe shortages of supplies.”
The Italians appreciate China’s help and we should expect them to welcome an era of warmer bilateral relations in the foreseeable future.

I’m from Spain, Madrid, but since we are at this point (15/03/20) also quarantined and closed, I think I can answer this point:
We like them. As citizens, our chinese community has been the most responsible of all. This is partly due to their culture, and partly due to the fact that they receive information from their government that we don’t. They closed all their commerce one week ago (we closed it yesterday) and they have been giving masks in the subway for free.
Our government still tell us that masks do nothing. False. They do. If you are infected, and wear a mask, is less possible that you pass it to other people. Masks help to stop transmission, if used massively.
Now looks like a chinese team is also coming to Spain. Good. They know theirXXX and all help is welcome;

Now we have some “cuñaos” (Means literally, brother-in-law, but is a way to call opinionated people with stupid opinions) thinking that chinese are very bad. Luckily, most people know this is completely false. In fact, we have a lot good to say about chinese people in Spain.
They are doing a great work, and showing a sense of community that, in some regards, put the rest of us a bit to shame. I think that feeling is part what causes those few idiots to criticize them. Luckily, most people goes the other way round.

If Italy doubts China's friendly help, which other country is willing to help Italy in the future?
Italy and China are very ancient countries. Both of them know how to get along peacefully. Italy has helped China in the past. It is time to return.
Don't forget that China has just ended its fight against the virus. Doctors and nurses in China are very tired. China's economy has also suffered a serious loss, like a giant machine stopped running for two months. However, so far, China has given different degrees of assistance to 85 countries,
including medical equipment, doctors' teams, masks, etc. even though many small enterprises in China are facing bankruptcy, many people have lost their jobs due to this virus. China is helping other countries as much as it can, because people there have suffered coronavirus, and they do not want people in other countries to suffer the same pain.
Obviously, China spent 45 days to control of the virus crisis just shows the superiority and rationality of collectivism and socialism.
I respect every country's GOV. I think we should not slander other country just because social system difference. I hope you will not be blinded by the rumors about China on social media. Both of countries try to help each other in difficult time.
I believe the friendship between Italy and China will be stronger then.

As an Italian I am deeply grateful to China for its help on the COVID outbreak in Italy. But I would like to extend my thanks to the Chinese community which is living in Italy, and my personal apologies for how it has been treated by some - let’s call them with their name - idiots blaming them for the virus.
The Chinese community has helped tremendously, and I have seen them making small efforts of generosity towards the people around them. Like for example putting one face mask in every letterbox of their condo, without telling anyone, without asking anything.
Just to help other people around them - their community, which is one, the same, and is composed by people of all races. Many of these Chinese-ethynicity people are Italian: born and bred in Italy, and possibly, have seldom visited China. But not all of them are.
And I find in these small, precious acts of generosity the same care and attention that I find in the Chinese people I know and frequent for my job, and the same compassionate spirit. Many have written me asking how the situation was and showing me their presence and moral support. And telling me that they are waiting to meet again at the soonest, to celebrate our friendship together.
I am humbled that China, and not only China, has expressed so much love for Italy. Indeed, every nation of the world has shown its support to Italy, and has given with generosity all that was possible to give.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Can I answer this question too? I’m Iranian and we have received lots of help from corona test kits to masks for hospital woekers from China too. Though they are still themselves under pressure but they try to help as much as possible,isnt this beautiful?

History will remember this
At a time where there are more than 1,800 deaths where 1,218 deaths occurred in just a span of 24 hours, also at a time where the European Union penalized Italy nearly £7 million amid Coronavirus outbreak and at a time where probably Italy has witnessed the worst since the WW2 and where currently the whole nation is in a lockdown,
the immediate and a sudden help out of nowhere, I'm sure the Chinese help was a godsend to the Italians or rather the whole of humanity. China, where the country has seen the most number of deaths and still counting took the initiative to help fellow Italians whereas not even one member of the European Union came forward to support Italy.

Now in Italy a lot of antieurope use this excuse for saying that Europe turn their back in front of us instead the China that is also under crises decide to help us with medicine and even medics.
Someone even say to leave the European Union and became a Chinese partner.
