one 可代替單數可數名詞，指上文出現過的同一類事物。代替同一類人或事物時，其前面必須有如many等限定詞，同一類人或事物的複數用ones.it 可代替單數可數名詞，指同一個，不能帶任何修飾語。that 可代替前面提到過的單數可數名詞或不可數名詞，它表示同一類而不是同一個，其後面常帶有修飾語。
