I was elated to see KG get one.

everybody in Minnesota became full on Celtics fans this season—you could just go in public during the playoffs and it was assumed you were following Boston (as if they were the hometown team). I remember watching the finals at my friends house and we had all bought random Celtics gear to wear.

I feel like he is one of those rare players that feel like they belong to two franchises, obviously he is a wolve before anything else, but the way Boston embraced him was truly special, as a fan you just cant help but love the guy. I'm trying to think of another instance were the feeling is this strong and cant come up with one off the top of my head.

Usually there is clearly a divide in love for a dude, the only one that seems even remotely similar to me is Payton in Denver and indie, both places love him still, though I think he took a slightlybigger hit in indie than Garnett did in Minnesota

KG v Dirk v Duncan is one of my favorite underrated NBA rivalries. Even though the Spurs got the better of the Mavs and Wolves more often than not, those games always had a really fun and intense energy to them. I think they have three pretty good analogues among current stars
KG is a slightly better Anthony Davis (though doubtful Garnett would've ever gotten a consistent 3 point shot)
Dirk is a much better Porzingis (less athletic but 10x more skilled)
Duncan is a much better Horford
