故事概述
四隻狗狗依次在小主人的帶領下進行才能秀，狗狗們分別表演了什麼呢？又是誰最終獲得了冠軍呢？一會兒讀故事看看吧！
這本書在狗狗表演的過程中教孩子掌握英語中序數的概念。

本書課程分為上下兩節：
上節，我們通過引入生活中三個場景幫助孩子熟悉並掌握序數詞；下節，通過狗狗才能比賽的故事加深孩子對序數詞的理解。
書的最後有非常實用的親子互動及共讀建議，家長可以直接引用。

block /blɔk/ n. 街區 。 “在某個街區”用介詞“on”, 舉例： A and B live on the same block. （A和B住在同一個街/小區）； 除此之外，on the block 也是英語中的一個固定短語，意思是“出售中的，在拍賣中的”。結合本書故事，這裡理解為“在本街區”的意思。

小小常畫彩虹
Painting the Rainbow
常媽 ： 小小常，what are you doing? 這麼著急做什麼？
小小常： 媽媽，天空有彩虹，可它快要消失了，我要把它畫下來。I want to paint the rainbow with crayons.
常媽： No rush! 不著急，我們先觀察觀察彩虹有哪些顏色，記在心裡。這樣即使彩虹消失了，也一樣可以畫出彩虹的。來，我們按照從上向下的順序看看彩虹都有什麼顏色吧。Which color is first?
小小常： First? 是什麼？
常媽： First 是第一，首先的。 First, first, fir-st 第一。
小小常： 彩虹裡面紅色排第一 ，就是這樣說red is first. 對不對？
常媽： 非常對！Red is first. 我們還可以說The first color is red.
小小常： The first color is red. Red is first. 媽媽，第二個顏色是orange橙色, 第二個怎麼說？
常媽： 第二是second. Second, second, se-con-d. Orange is second.
小小常： Orange is second. The second color is orange.
常媽： The first color is red. Red is the first color. The second color is orange. Orange is the second color.
小小常： 第三個顏色是黃色。
常媽： 第三是third. Third, third, thir-d.
小小常： Third, third. Yellow is third.
常媽： Yellow is third. The third color is yellow.
小小常： 第四呢？
常媽： 第四是fourth. Fourth, fourth, four-th.
小小常： Green is fourth. The fourth color is green.
常媽： 小小常，第五就是fifth. Fifth, fifth, fif-th. Which color is fifth?
小小常： Blue. Blue is fifth. The fifth color is blue.
常媽： The fifth color is blue. Blue is fifth. 小小常，接下來的第六和第七，對你來說就特別簡單了。第六是sixth. Sixth, sixth, six-th. 第七是seventh. Seventh, seventh, seven-th.
小小常： 媽媽，第六和第七都好簡單呀，都是在數字六和七後面多一個th。 第六，sixth. 第七，seventh.
常媽： 你說得對。Do you know what color is sixth?
小小常： It’s like blue but darker. 像藍色，但是更深一些。
常媽： 是的，這個顏色是靛藍色，叫做indigo.
小小常： Indigo. Indigo is sixth. The sixth color is indigo.
常媽： Great! 接下來就是violet紫色。Violet, violet, vio-let. In what place is violet? 紫色在什麼位置？
小小常： 當然是第七啦！ Violet is seventh. The seven color is violet.
常媽： Very well! Can you name the order of the seven colors backward? 小小常，我們一起再來倒著數數彩虹的顏色吧？這樣的話，紫色就排第一了。Violet comes first.
小小常： Violet is first.
常媽： Indigo is second.
小小常： Blue is third.
常媽： Green is fourth.
小小常： Yellow is fifth.
常媽： Orange is sixth.
小小常： Red is seventh. 媽媽，彩虹的顏色我全記住了，不用看著天空我就可以畫彩虹了。
場景二
小小常搭積木
Playing with Blocks
常媽： 小小常，what are you doing with these blocks? 你在做什麼呢？
小小常： I’m building up four houses. 我蓋四間房子啊。
常媽： Four houses for whom? 四間房子給誰呢？
小小常： The first house is for grandma and grandpa. 第一間房子給爺爺奶奶。
常媽： Ok, why the first house is for grandma and grandpa? 為什麼第一間房給爺爺奶奶呢？
小小常： Because the first house has a garden. Grandma can plant flowers. 第一間房子有花園，奶奶可以種花。
常媽： Very sweet! How about the second house? 第二間房子呢？
小小常： The second house is for mom and dad. 第二間是給爸爸媽媽的。This is the biggest house of all. 這是最大的。
常媽： Thank you, honey. Those two houses, which is third? Which is fourth? 這兩間哪個是第三間，哪個是第四間？
小小常：This small house is the third house. 這個小的是第三間。This house belongs to my cat. 這是給我的貓咪的房子。The fourth house is mine. 第四間是我的。 It has lots of toys inside. 房子裡有好多好多玩具。
場景三
停車場找車
常媽： 小小常，我們今天開車去動物園好不好。
小小常： Yes, I like the zoo! 媽媽，我們快去停車場開車吧。
常媽： Hey look, 小小常，which is the second car from the corner? 哪輛車是從拐角數的第二輛車？
小小常： The red car is the second car from the corner. 紅色的車是從拐角數的第二輛。
常媽： Good! Which car is mom’s? 媽媽的車是哪輛？
小小常： The fourth car is mom’s car. 媽媽的車是第四輛。
常媽： How about the black car? In which place is the black car?
小小常： The black car is first. 當然是在第一了。
常媽：And the yellow car is….
小小常：The yellow car is third. 黃車排第三。
