故事概述
四只狗狗依次在小主人的带领下进行才能秀，狗狗们分别表演了什么呢？又是谁最终获得了冠军呢？一会儿读故事看看吧！
这本书在狗狗表演的过程中教孩子掌握英语中序数的概念。
（first, second, third……）
本书课程分为上下两节：
上节，我们通过引入生活中三个场景帮助孩子熟悉并掌握序数词；下节，通过狗狗才能比赛的故事加深孩子对序数词的理解。
书的最后有非常实用的亲子互动及共读建议，家长可以直接引用。

block /blɔk/ n. 街区 。 “在某个街区”用介词“on”, 举例： A and B live on the same block. （A和B住在同一个街/小区）； 除此之外，on the block 也是英语中的一个固定短语，意思是“出售中的，在拍卖中的”。结合本书故事，这里理解为“在本街区”的意思。

Painting the Rainbow
常妈 ： 小小常，what are you doing? 这么着急做什么？
小小常： 妈妈，天空有彩虹，可它快要消失了，我要把它画下来。I want to paint the rainbow with crayons.
常妈： No rush! 不着急，我们先观察观察彩虹有哪些颜色，记在心里。这样即使彩虹消失了，也一样可以画出彩虹的。来，我们按照从上向下的顺序看看彩虹都有什么颜色吧。Which color is first?
小小常： First? 是什么？
常妈： First 是第一，首先的。 First, first, fir-st 第一。
小小常： 彩虹里面红色排第一 ，就是这样说red is first. 对不对？
常妈： 非常对！Red is first. 我们还可以说The first color is red.
小小常： The first color is red. Red is first. 妈妈，第二个颜色是orange橙色, 第二个怎么说？
常妈： 第二是second. Second, second, se-con-d. Orange is second.
小小常： Orange is second. The second color is orange.
常妈： The first color is red. Red is the first color. The second color is orange. Orange is the second color.
小小常： 第三个颜色是黄色。
常妈： 第三是third. Third, third, thir-d.
小小常： Third, third. Yellow is third.
常妈： Yellow is third. The third color is yellow.
小小常： 第四呢？
常妈： 第四是fourth. Fourth, fourth, four-th.
小小常： Green is fourth. The fourth color is green.
常妈： 小小常，第五就是fifth. Fifth, fifth, fif-th. Which color is fifth?
小小常： Blue. Blue is fifth. The fifth color is blue.
常妈： The fifth color is blue. Blue is fifth. 小小常，接下来的第六和第七，对你来说就特别简单了。第六是sixth. Sixth, sixth, six-th. 第七是seventh. Seventh, seventh, seven-th.
小小常： 妈妈，第六和第七都好简单呀，都是在数字六和七后面多一个th。 第六，sixth. 第七，seventh.
常妈： 你说得对。Do you know what color is sixth?
小小常： It’s like blue but darker. 像蓝色，但是更深一些。
常妈： 是的，这个颜色是靛蓝色，叫做indigo.
小小常： Indigo. Indigo is sixth. The sixth color is indigo.
常妈： Great! 接下来就是violet紫色。Violet, violet, vio-let. In what place is violet? 紫色在什么位置？
小小常： 当然是第七啦！ Violet is seventh. The seven color is violet.
常妈： Very well! Can you name the order of the seven colors backward? 小小常，我们一起再来倒着数数彩虹的颜色吧？这样的话，紫色就排第一了。Violet comes first.
小小常： Violet is first.
常妈： Indigo is second.
小小常： Blue is third.
常妈： Green is fourth.
小小常： Yellow is fifth.
常妈： Orange is sixth.
小小常： Red is seventh. 妈妈，彩虹的颜色我全记住了，不用看着天空我就可以画彩虹了。
场景二
小小常搭积木

常妈： 小小常，what are you doing with these blocks? 你在做什么呢？
小小常： I’m building up four houses. 我盖四间房子啊。
常妈： Four houses for whom? 四间房子给谁呢？
小小常： The first house is for grandma and grandpa. 第一间房子给爷爷奶奶。
常妈： Ok, why the first house is for grandma and grandpa? 为什么第一间房给爷爷奶奶呢？
小小常： Because the first house has a garden. Grandma can plant flowers. 第一间房子有花园，奶奶可以种花。
常妈： Very sweet! How about the second house? 第二间房子呢？
小小常： The second house is for mom and dad. 第二间是给爸爸妈妈的。This is the biggest house of all. 这是最大的。
常妈： Thank you, honey. Those two houses, which is third? Which is fourth? 这两间哪个是第三间，哪个是第四间？
小小常：This small house is the third house. 这个小的是第三间。This house belongs to my cat. 这是给我的猫咪的房子。The fourth house is mine. 第四间是我的。 It has lots of toys inside. 房子里有好多好多玩具。
场景三
停车场找车
常妈： 小小常，我们今天开车去动物园好不好。
小小常： Yes, I like the zoo! 妈妈，我们快去停车场开车吧。
常妈： Hey look, 小小常，which is the second car from the corner? 哪辆车是从拐角数的第二辆车？
小小常： The red car is the second car from the corner. 红色的车是从拐角数的第二辆。
常妈： Good! Which car is mom’s? 妈妈的车是哪辆？
小小常： The fourth car is mom’s car. 妈妈的车是第四辆。
常妈： How about the black car? In which place is the black car?
小小常： The black car is first. 当然是在第一了。
常妈：And the yellow car is….
小小常：The yellow car is third. 黄车排第三。
