(1) Would you mind ...? 表示“你介意……嗎?”
1) 用法:是英語中委婉請求的表述方式之一，語氣委婉、客氣、禮貌，易於被對方接受。此種表達也可用Do you mind…？但語氣沒有Would you mind…？委婉。
2) 結構:Would you mind doing sth. ? 做……好嗎？
否定式:Would you mind not doing sth. ? 別做……好嗎?
如：Would you mind closing the door? 你介意把門關上嗎？
Would you mind not wearing those old jeans? 別穿那些舊牛仔褲可以嗎?
3) 句中動名詞前可加一個邏輯主語，一般用形容詞性物主代詞或名詞所有格，用於不用意義不同。如：
Do you mind smoking? 你介意抽支菸嗎？（你抽菸）
Do you mind my smoking?你介意我抽支菸嗎？(我抽菸）
4)後可接由if引導的從句。如：
Would you mind if I smoke here?
如果我在這抽菸你介意嗎？
(2)Would you mind ...?用來提問，表達的語氣較客氣。回答的方式有：
1)聽從對方提議，表示一點也不介意。如：
Not at all.
Of course not.
Certainly not.
Never mind.
2)拒絕對方提議，表示介意，用於表達“對不起……、 “恐怕你還是別……”的意思。如：
I’m sorry ...
I’m afraid you'd better not.
① —Would you mind closing the window?
你介意把窗子關上嗎？
—Of course not.當然不介意。
2 —Do you mind my borrowing your book?
你介意我借用你的書嗎？
—I’m sorry. I’ll read it later on.
對不起，我一會兒要看。
(3)同義句:Could you please +動詞原形+其他？
如：Would you mind helping me? = Could you please help me?
你能幫我一個忙嗎？
