很多朋友都知道手指叫做finger，但你知道大拇指、食指、中指、無名指、小拇指的英語分別是什麼嗎？

大拇指 thumb

She bit the tip of her left thumb, not looking at me.
她咬著左手的大拇指頭，也不看我。

thumbs down 反對
eg:

be all thumbs 笨拙的
eg:
My mother writes beautiful calligraphy, but I'm all thumbs — I can barely hold the pen!

under someone's thumb 完全被某人掌控
eg:
He has been under the thumb of his father for many years.
他活在他的父親的掌控之下好幾年。
食指 forefinger / index finger / pointer finger

The police officer was a handsome, elegantly dressed man with a diamond ring on his forefinger.
那位警官是一位帥氣、打扮優雅的男人，食指上戴著一隻鑽戒。
中指 middle finger

Wind the dangling floss around the middle finger of the other hand.

無名指 ring finger
通常婚戒戴在無名指上，所以稱為ring finger。

小拇指 little finger / pinky
