英語中有一個語言現象叫homophone（同音異形異義詞），說的是一個單詞和另一個單詞，發音相同，但詞源、拼寫、詞義卻不相同。
好玩的是，我們發現一個叫Bruce Worden的文字愛好者，他把一些同音異形異義詞都給“圖示化”了。不得不說，看完他的圖示，想忘記這些homophones都難啊！

Affect vs Effect
李雷推了韓梅梅一把，影響（affect）了她的身體平衡，結果（effect）她掉進了水裡…

effect：a change that results when something is done or happens
Band vs Banned
李雷組建了一支樂隊（band），但他們排練的聲音太吵，學校管理員禁止（banned）他們使用排練室。
釋義
band（banned）：a usually small group of musicians who play popular music together
ban：to forbid people from using (something)
Pray vs Prey
身處荒郊野外的李雷雷，正在祈禱上帝保佑自己（pray），然而一隻血口大開的蛇，卻即將把他變作腹中物（prey）。
釋義
pary：to speak to God especially in order to give thanks or to ask for something
prey：to hunt and kill (something) for food
Pause vs Paws
當韓梅梅按下音樂的暫停（pause）鍵後，小貓也隨之停下了自己跳舞的爪子（paws）。
釋義
pause: a control that you use when you want to stop a recorded song, movie, etc., for a short time
paw(paws): the foot of an animal that has claws
Leak vs Leek
水池有一點點漏水（leak），但這並沒有影響到韓梅梅的媽媽去洗大蔥（leek）。
釋義
leak：of a liquid, gas, etc. : to come in or go out through a hole in a surface
leek：a vegetable that has long green leaves rising from a thick white base and that tastes like a mild onion
Desert vs Dessert
李雷和韓梅梅被丟在了一個無趣的地方（desert），現在他們好想吃一杯甜點（dessert）啊！

desert：a place or area that does not have something interesting or important
dessert：sweet food eaten after the main part of a meal
Hair vs Hare
野兔（hare）的毛髮（hair）是麻灰色的。

hair：a thin threadlike growth from the skin of a person or animal
hare：a fast animal that resembles a rabbit
Cereal vs Serial
李雷早上起床太餓了，吃了一連串（serial）的麥片（cereal）。
釋義
cereal：a breakfast food made from grain
serial：arranged or happening in a series
Slay vs Sleigh
獵人本來想開槍打死（slay）麋鹿的，後來又改變了主意，抓它過來拉雪橇（sleigh）。
釋義
slay：to kill (someone or something) especially in a battle or war
sleigh：a large, open vehicle that is usually pulled by a horse over snow or ice
Profit vs Prophet
那群人拿了好處（profit）後，來聽先知（prophet) 佈道。
釋義
profit：the advantage or benefit that is gained from doing something
prophet： a member of some religions who delivers messages that are believed to have come from God
