怎樣將狀語從句變為分詞短語
當時間狀語從句、原因狀語從句和條件狀語從句的主語與主句的主語一致時,可將從句變為分詞短語狀語。原主句的主語成為分詞的邏輯主語。改寫方法如下:
1. 當從句的謂語動詞是主動語態的一般時態或進行時態時,變從句為一般式的現在分詞。例如:
When she saw the jewels,she jumped with the joy.
Seeing the jewels, she jumped with the joy.
2. 從句的謂語部分是“be +形容詞或名詞”的系表結構時,變從句為“Being +表語”的現在分詞短語。
As he was seriously ill,he went home.
Being seriously ill,he went home.
3. 從句的謂語動詞是被動語態的一般時態時,變從句為過去分詞短語。例如:
As they are led by the Party,the people have greatly improved their living condition.
Led by the Party, the people have greatly improved their condition.
4. 從句的謂語部分是“be + 過去分詞”的系表結構時,變從句為過去分詞短語。例如:
As he was filled with new ideas,the young man invented many kinds of modern machines.
Filled with new ideas, the young man invented many kinds of modern machines.
5. 從句的謂語動詞是完成時態, 變從句為完成式的現在分詞短語.例如:
As I have seen him before, I easily recognized him.
Having seen him before, I easily recognized him.
6. 從句是after引導的, 謂語動詞是一般時態,也變從句為完成式的現在分詞短語。例如:
After she lit a candle,she went out.
Having lit a candle, she went out.
7. 從句是否定句時,把從句變成否定分詞短語,即“not+分詞短語”例如:
As he didn’t know what to do,he asked me for help.
Not knowing what to do,he asked me for help.
8. 從句跟在主句後時,改寫後的分詞短語置以句首。例如:
The park looks very beautiful when it is seen from the hill.
Seen from the hill, the park looks very beautiful.
9. 從句是名詞作主語時, 應將這個名詞調換到主句的主語位置。例如:
As the factory was regarded as the best one in the city,it was given a medal.
Regarded as the best one in the city,the factory was given a medal.
10. 如果由when或while引導的從句的時態是現在進行時,從句可變成“現在分詞”,置以句首、句尾皆可。
They waved again and again to us, when ( while ) they were leaving the airport.
When (While)leaving the airport, they waved again and again to us.
11. if引導的條件狀語從句, 謂語是一般時態,應用現在分詞作條件狀語.例如:
If you listen to the expert,you will certainly succeed.
Listening to the expert, you will certainly succeed.
練習將下列的狀語從句變成分詞短語。
1. When she arrived at the village, she saw several tractors working in the fields.
When arriving at the village, she saw several tractors working in the fields.
2. I learned a lot while I worked in the countryside.
I learned a lot while working in the countryside.
3. Since you are a Party member you should set an example to others.
Being a Party member, you should set an example to others.
4. The man threw off his coat because he felt too hot.
Feeling too hot, the man threw off his coat.
5. When he entered the dining room, he saw his mother in a white clean overall.
Entering the dining room, he saw his mother in a white clean overall.

當時間狀語、原因狀語、條件狀語及定於從句的主語與主句的主語一致時，都可以把從句變成分詞短語。變化後的句子更加簡潔、嚴謹，具體方法筆者將進行講解。

4.當從句的謂語動詞是完成時態，變從句為完成式現在分詞短語
比如這個句子：As I had learned driving cars several years before,I easili passed the driving test.
可以變為：Having earned driving cars several years before,I easili passed the driving test.
5.當從句是after引導的，謂語動詞是一般時態，也變從句為完成式的現在分詞短語
例如這個句子：After he switched the light,he left the office.
可以變為：Having switched the light,he left the office.
6.從句是否定句，把從句變成否定式分詞短語，即“not+分詞短語”
例如這個句子：Because she did not know how to open the door,he asked me for help.
可以變為：Not knowing how to open the door,he asked me for help.
7.從句是名詞作主語時，應將這個名次調到主句的主語位置，再作從句的改寫
例如這個句子：When Tom was lost in thought.he almost ran into a car.
可以變為：Lost in thought.he almost ran into a car.
8.當從句是含“be+現在分詞或過去分詞”構成的定語從句時，變從句為一般式的分詞短語
例如這個句子：The number of people who were killed or seriously injured reached more than 400,000.
可以變為：The number of people killed or seriously injured reached more than 400,000.
9.有時，也可以把一些並列分句改成分詞短語
例如這個句子：The teacher came in and he was followed by some students.
可以變為：The teacher came in,followed by some students.
