我們都知道，在外企工作，肯定要用上英語。使用的場景很多，比如和外國客戶打電話溝通，寫郵件，接待來訪的外國客戶等，英語不過關，會造成很多誤解。
去外企，至少要有四六級的底子，進去後還要學常用表達。要翻譯“驗貨”，可不要說成check the goods，這只是核對數量對不對之類的，地道的是inspect the goods，含有“全方位檢查”，比如顏色，功能，尺寸等；要表達“和國際接軌”，可以不要說connect to the international，一般都說gear sth to the international standards（conventions），gear 本義是“齒輪”，像齒輪一樣緊扣，不就是“接軌”嗎？要表達“在某公司實習”可以說work as an intern in 或serve one's internship in；要表達“銀行水單”，說成bank water bill，老外一團霧水，正確的說法是bank slip或者bank receipt。
如果要表達“運費預付”，你會怎麼說才地道一點？有同學會說成pay the shipping cost first，或者pay shipping cost in advance，對不對呢？當然也對！但是，這只是我們自己翻譯出來的意思，不是地道表達。“預付預付”一般都說freight prepaid。單詞freight就是“運費”的意思，而prepaid是 prepay “預付”的過去分詞。
我們通過例句學習freight prepaid的用法：
The Bill of Lading should be marked "Freight Collect" instead of "Freight Prepaid".
提貨單上應該是運費到付而不是運費預付。
Products still under warranty will be returned to the customer with freight prepaid。
依然處於質保期內的產品，在返還客戶時要預付運費。
