第306講 belong 只能跟to 連用 嗎？ 事實是這樣的
belong 這個單詞只能跟to 連用嗎？
在我們的印象中的確如此，比如說我們說這房子是屬於他的，就要用這個短語：
The house belongs to him.
世界是我們的
The world belongs to us
我們花了很多的初中高中的學習資料，備考資料，說到這個詞的時候，就只有這個短語了。
實際上，belong 在不同情況下，後面的介詞是可以改變的：
比如說，這本書是屬於這個圖書館的：
The book belongs in the library.
這些詞典是屬於這個書架的
The dictionary belongs on the shelf
你不屬於這裡的
You don't belong here.
這種寵物狗適合於養在鄉下
Such pet dogs belong in the countryside.
我們一定要注意，這個詞是一個不及物動詞，後面一般來說要跟介詞，或者直接跟副詞，比如here， there等
另外，這個單詞的ing結構，belonging，可以當一個名詞用，他的意思是某人的---財物，附屬品，家眷等。
我們把這個小女孩看成我們的家屬的了
We look upon the little girl 【as belonging to】 the family
