雖然門斯是德國人，但是畫作在德國留存並不多。他的壁畫主要在羅馬，油畫主要在馬德里。
另外俄羅斯收藏的門斯作品數量不多，但質量很高，有5幅精品現存聖彼得堡的艾爾米塔什博物館，一是緣於葉卡捷琳娜二世出身德國，二是緣於門斯畫中的古典風情極受俄羅斯皇室喜愛。
葉卡捷琳娜二世在門斯故去後為他在羅馬聖伯多祿大殿設立靈位。
