"on fire" 有“著火”的意思，但 "You re on fire" 其實是在說你“狀態很好；火力全開”。其實有玩遊戲的夥伴們應該也會常聽到這個表達，主角們很愛說 "I m on fire"。

*不過 "on fire" 有時也能表達“極其性感”、“受歡迎”、“非常熱情”，主要還是要看語境理解哦~

"Jill s new book is really on fire. Everyone is buying it."

Jill的新書很受歡迎，每個人都在買。

play with fire

將 "play with fire" 理解成“玩火”其實沒什麼問題，但這個“玩火”得理解為兩層意思：一層是普通物理上的“玩火”；另一層則是“冒著風險實施的危險行為”。

如果你惹毛了Max，你就是在玩火。

"fire away" 表達鼓勵他人提問或說出想說的話，意思是“說吧；儘管問吧”。有些人會把它誤解成“被解僱”，但其實“被解僱”是可以直接用 "be fired" 來表示的。
