Lesson 7 Too late 為時已晚 （包裹已經掉包了）
The plane was late and detectives were waiting at the airport all morning.
（飛機誤點了，偵探們在機場等了整整一個上午。時間、地點、人物）
They were expecting a valuable parcel of dimonds from South Africa.
（他們正在等待來自南非的一包價值昂貴的包裹。等待的原因）
A few hours earlier, someone had told the police that thieves would try to steal the diamonds.
（數小時之前，有人向警察報案，說有人企圖偷走這些鑽石。回溯在機場之前的事）
When the plan arrived,some of the dectives were waiting inside the main building while others were waiting on the airfield.
（當飛機到達時，一些偵探等在主樓裡，另一些則在停機坪上守候。偵探們在做什麼）
Two men took the parcel off the plane and carried it into the Customs House.
（有兩個人拿著包裹下了飛機，進入海關大廳。飛機到達後的情況）
While two detectives were keeping guard at the door, two others opened the parcel.
（這時，兩個偵探把住門口，另外兩個偵探打開包裹。偵探收查了包裹）
To their surprise, the precious parcel was full of stones and sand.
（讓他們大吃一驚的是，那珍貴的包裹裡全是石頭和沙子。結果不是鑽石！）
