圣诞节绝对是英国人的大日子，阖家欢聚，没人会错过这个重要时刻。

2019圣诞前夕，英国皇室就在推特上发出了一张英国女王与查尔斯王子、威廉王子以及乔治小王子的四世同堂温馨照片。

今年圣诞对于伊丽莎白女王来说有些一波三折，圣诞前夕98岁的菲利普亲王因为健康问题住进了医院，不过好在他已经出院，没有错过与亲友共度节日时光。另外，哈里与梅根夫妇和女王告假，带着小宝宝阿奇一起去了加拿大过节。阿奇的第一个圣诞节不和全家人一起过，想必女王心里还是会有些可惜吧~

当然，在圣诞这天，远在加拿大的哈里一家一定不会错过一项重要节目，也是英国人过圣诞节的传统节目——收看女王的圣诞演讲。

67次圣诞演讲，聆听女王心声好时机

1952年英国女王伊丽莎白二世的第一次发表了电视圣诞讲话，纯正古典的英伦范，带着旧时光的从容优雅，如今白驹过隙，时光又走过了半个多世纪。女王圣诞讲话的官方名称是 “女王殿下最仁慈的演讲”（Her Majesty’s Most Gracious Speech），60多年来，每到圣诞节，英国观众总会准时守在电视机前，聆听女王的演讲。

今年是伊丽莎白女王的第67次圣诞演讲，虽然往日女王会按照英国政府的意愿进行演说，但圣诞演说女王会亲自执笔撰稿，可以说是聆听女王心声的好时机！

值得一提的是，伦敦大学学院（UCL）的专家们研究了女王从1952年到2016年发表的64次圣诞演讲，总结出一些特点，女王一共用过4.2万个词，但是只有

这么算下来，女王的演讲中只有9.5%的词是新词。

圣诞演讲背后的小心机

在过去9年，女王的团队都会公开提前发布女王演讲的照片。不管是背后的装饰、桌上的相片、女王穿着的衣服，都是大家极其关注的目标。今年当然也不例外！

根据皇室专家表示：女王似乎想让公众更加关注王位继承人，而少放些焦点在渴望自由的哈里与梅根身上。

演讲主题“和解（reconciliation）”

每年的圣诞致辞都会有一个主题，2017年女王演讲的主题是“家（home）”，去年的主题是“和平与善意 (peace and goodwill) ”，今年的演讲主题则是“和解（reconciliation）”。93岁的女王谈到了登月、诺曼底登陆75周年等内容，以及“和解”的意义。

And, as we all look forward to the start of a new decade, it's worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change.

女王为什么不说Merry Christmas？

为什么女王每年在演讲结尾都说Happy Christmas而非 Merry Christmas？

"Merry Christmas"的流行是狄更斯在1843年出版的《圣诞颂歌》后。因为他在里面中多次用到了"Merry Christmas" 。商家也顺势而为，推出了写有这句话的圣诞贺卡，于是"A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You"成功将‘圣诞快乐’推广到全世界。

但是，Merry的原意是“就是天性活泼的，可能还有些醉了"。在1840年代推出的第一批Merry Christmas贺卡，场景中也是一家人饮酒作乐。而“Happy Christmas”表达清醒的愉悦，就像获得了应得的回报，辛勤工作、带着美德生活产生的满足。

所以女王在每年的圣诞致辞中为了不让人们产生歧义，也是呼吁人们对圣诞节本意的尊重，就会使用Happy Christmas而不是Merry Christmas。
