President Trump on Friday declared a national emergency over the coronavirus, freeing up additional resources and funding as federal, state and local governments attempt to combat the rapidly spreading disease.
“I am officially declaring a national emergency, two very big words,” Mr. Trump said, adding, “I’m urging every state to set up emergency operations centers effective immediately.”
特朗普承認美國疫情“可能會變糟”，“未來8周時間非常關鍵”。他說，美國將通過公私合作的方式提升新冠病毒檢測能力，但他不會為疫情早期美國病毒檢測遲緩“承擔任何責任”。
“I don’t take responsibility at all,” he said when asked about US delays to testing the public.
美國國家過敏症和傳染病研究所主任福奇在記者會上表示，目前無法判斷美國疫情的拐點何時出現。
美國疾病控制和預防中心最新數據顯示，截至13日下午，美國累計新冠肺炎確診病例1629例、死亡41例。美國首都華盛頓和46個州已出現確診病例，其中華盛頓州、紐約州和加利福尼亞州疫情較為嚴重。
特朗普稱將很快接受新冠病毒檢測
美東時間13日下午，美國總統特朗普在白宮玫瑰園的記者會上表示，他“很有可能”將接受新冠病毒檢測，當被問及具體何時接受檢測時，他回答稱“非常快”。
President Trump said Friday that he would “most likely” be tested for the coronavirus and signaled the White House was working on scheduling it.
“Most likely, yes,” Trump told a reporter during an exchange about his recent contact with a Brazilian official who later tested positive for the virus. “Not for that reason, but because I think I will do it anyway."
“Fairly soon, we’re working out a schedule,” Trump said
在當天的記者會上，特朗普仍然與同時出席的官員和企業高管握手。儘管上週與隨後確診的一名巴西官員有過接觸，特朗普仍堅持表示，他本人沒有任何症狀，並不準備對自己和白宮工作人員採取預防性措施。
