See off

  • Meaning: Go to the airport or station to say goodbye to someone 去機場或者車站與送別某人
  • Example: They’ve gone to the airport to see their son off.

Set off

  • Meaning: Start a journey 開始一段旅行
  • Example: We set off for Paris just after ten.

Get in

  • Meaning: Arrive (train, plane) 到達(車站,機場)
  • Example: I got in just after eight o’clock.

Hold up

  • Meaning: Delay when travelling 旅行的時候晚點
  • Example: Sorry I’m late – I was held up at work.

Take off

    • Example: I’m looking forward to the weekend.

    • Meaning: Stay somewhere for a short time during a long journey 旅途中在某地短暫停留
    • Example: I wanted to stop over in India on the way to Australia.
