現在完成時 句型：have/has+過去分詞
現在完成時表示動作發生在過去，但與現在有關係，即用一個發生在過去的動作來說明現在的情況。
過去完成時 句型：had+過去分詞
過去完成時表示在過去某一段時間或動作以前已經完成的動作。強調過去的過去。
比較
現在完成時側重對現在產生的結果或造成的影響，與現在有關；過去完成時則表示動作發生在過去，強調過去的過去。與過去其他動作比較時才會用到。
例句對比：
（1）
I have eaten lots of cakes so far. 到現在為止我吃了很多蛋糕了。
I had eaten lots of cakes till then. 在那之前我已經吃了很多蛋糕了。
（2）
I have already finished reading the novel. 我已經讀完了這本小說。
I had finished reading the novel by nine o'clock last night.到昨晚9點鐘，我已經讀完了這本小說。
