Boat通常比較小，較大的boat要數上圖中的這種遊船了。Boat不是各種船的統稱（有些母語者也會誤用），正確的說法是watercraft。
(1) Boat 船
The fishing boat can only fit about 3-5 people with all the equipment.
這條漁船隻能盛下3-5個人加上設備。
(2) Ship 輪船
There are life boats on the ship.
輪船上有救生艇。
(3) Liner 客輪；郵輪
The cruise liner will stop at 5 locations on the Nile for guests to explore the port cities.
遊輪會在尼羅河的5個地方停靠，遊客們可以探索這些港口城市。
Cruise liner指以遊覽為目的郵輪，也就是“遊輪”。
(4) Ferry 渡輪；渡船；擺渡
在河流或較小海域間運送人或車輛。
The ferry takes people into the mainland for their daily commute at 7 am.
渡輪早7點會把人們帶到大陸上，供人們每日通勤。
