Fig is more common in Atushi, South Xinjiang, and its fruit is like steamed bread,and its tree does not blossom and bear fruit, so it is named.It is a kind of rare and pollution-free green fruit,the Uyghur word for fig is anjur , meaning "sugar buns on the tree."It means "sugar buns on trees and figs are suitable for Desert sandy soil,it happens that the soil in southern Xinjiang belongs to this kind of soil.
無花果在新疆南疆阿圖什較多，其果形似饅頭，並且其樹不開花而結果，就這樣而得名。是一種稀有無公害綠色水果，維吾爾語稱無花果為“安居爾”，意為“樹上結的糖包子，無花果適合沙漠性砂質土，正好新疆南疆土壤屬於這種土質。
