继上一篇日记，Greg讲述了玩Net Kritterz的执迷上瘾，并明确表示今年圣诞礼物想要Kritterz Kash给他的电子宠物Chihuahua增添装备，本打算这个周末继续在玩Net Kritterz中度过，结果很快招致他老妈的不满。
我们先来根据下面的原文听一下音频，后面有Lora老师的内容知识点梳理与讲解哦~
周天日记开篇就说了：
... Mom said the amount of time I’m spending playing that game is “unhealthy”and that I had to interact with a “real live person”.
interact表示相互交流;相互沟通 ，这里面“inter-”表示“在...之间”“相互”，“act”表示做事，行动，那么相互行动，就是互动，交流。
同样view有看之意，interview，相互看一看，就是面试，采访。
national表示
Greg老妈表示Greg用了太多时间玩这个游戏，这样不健康。Greg需要和一个大活人（real live person）互动交流。Greg于是把死党Rowley请到家里。
Greg 和Rowley是如何互动交流的呢？
从插图也可以看出：
Greg is siting in front of the TV, playing video games while Rowley is just sitting on the sofa watching.
我个人不爱打游戏，我觉得看别人打游戏应该也是挺无趣的事，但用Greg的话说：
...he dosn’t MIND watching me pay video games
Rowley丝毫不介意这事。
Greg和Rowley这样相处挺融洽的，但一旁Greg的妈妈又下达指令了，关掉电视，他们需要interact face to face，然后俩人被送到了basement（地下室）。
这里面还有一个使用interact的句子：
Plus, the reason our ancestors invented technology in the first place was so they didn’t HAVT to interact wih one anthor.
看原著就是有这么一个优点，有些关键词在文本中反复出现，看多了，你也就知道用法了。
在地下室，这对死党是如何interact “face to face”，我把插图拼在一起做了个流程图，试着回想复述一下。答案在文末。
1. Greg planned to stay up late watching movies，but Rowley brought _______.
2. They played “Wacky Sentences”. Rowley said “_______”instead of laughing, which drove Greg crazy. Then, they started arguing about the speling of “__________”.
3. Rowley suggested playing________. But it’s really easy for Greg to find Rowley.
4. Greg dared Rowley to write________ on the tree fort in the woods. Greg actually played a trick on Rowley.
Rowley蠢萌的性格在和Greg的玩耍中体现的淋漓尽致。小伙伴让他带电影碟片，他就只拿了“
他执拗的认为volleyball的拼写是bolleyball，拿起词典就从b开头的单词一个一个读起来，没查到呢，就断定Greg的字典outdated。
和Greg玩起捉迷藏，更是有趣，他以为当他看不到你的时候，你也看不到他，于是就有插图（图3）上搞笑的一幕。和这个IQ有点不太够用的小伙伴在一起，Greg自然玩的很无趣。最后他决定：
I decided we just needed a break from each other, so I came up with an idea.
Greg就是觉得俩人最好分开一下，最后憋出了个坏主意。这个坏注意就是：
Each of us had to walk into the woods and write our name on the tree fort we built last summer. And whoever chickened out was wrong about volleyball and had to call the other guy “sir”for the rest of his life.
然而去年夏天，Greg和Rowley建造那个树屋的时候，Greg就已写下了自己的名字。Greg在树林里绕了个圈回到屋子吃冰淇淋去了，留下Rowley站在寒风中哆嗦着不敢走进树林里。
这里面有个短语chicken out。Collins字典里的解释如下：
If someone chickens out of something they were intending to do, they decide not to do it because they are afraid.
chicken”本身就可用来表示“胆小的”。“chicken out”的意思是：原来计划好做一件事，但是到最后一刻却害怕了，感到完成不了，于是便中途停止或放弃，也可以说是临阵退缩。这种事情几乎每个人都在不同情况下经历过…
Today I was sure I could work up my courage and dive off the ten meter board at the pool. I walked right out to the edge, but then I chickened out—it looked like a long way down to the water!
我原来以为今天我肯定会鼓足了勇气从游泳池那个十米高的跳台上跳下去。可是，当我走到跳台边缘的时候却退缩。从跳台到水面的距离看起来好远啊！
可怜的Rowley不仅以后要尊称Greg“sir”，肯定也感冒生病了，文中没交代，但插图（图7）可以看出。最后Greg悠闲的躺在床上看书，享受着“argument free”的时光。
也难怪Rowley和Greg分分合合了，Greg被自己哥哥耍，被弟弟告黑状，但在死党Rowley面前总使坏，而Rowley在Greg的坏点子陪衬下，憨得可爱。
