繪本賞析
有個小男孩叫馬克。今天他很不開心。
There was a little boy named Mark. Today he’s not happy at all.
“考試的時候我有兩道題都不會答。
I had two questions I couldn’t answer in the test.
我正鬱悶呢，隔壁桌的琳達突然塞給我一個信封。
It was bad enough, then Linda from the other table gave me an envelope.
打開一看，上面寫著‘我喜歡你’。。。
I opened it, it said “I like you”…
什麼嘛！這個琳達戴著牙箍和眼鏡。完全不是我的菜。”
What! Linda wears braces and glasses. She’s totally not my type.
“馬克，快去操場啊。同學帶來一頭小牛，去看看。”
“Mark, come to the oval. Other kids have brought a calf, come see it.”
這是一頭小花牛，在那裡得意地轉著小圈，馬克伸手摸了摸它。。。
It was a spotted calf, happily spinning around, Mark touched it…
“哎喲！”
“Ouch!”
“馬克被牛踩啦！”
“Mark got stepped on by the calf!”
“總算放學了！這倒黴的一天 。。。 ”
“Finally it’s home time! What a terrible day…”
“馬克，這兒呢，快上車。你爸讓我來接你，快點啊，我忙著呢。”
“Mark, over here, get in the car. Your dad asked me to pick you up, come on, I’m busy.”
“啊！怎麼是她啊。。我的親阿姨啊！她開車每次我都坐到想吐。”
“Oh! Why her…my aunt! Every time she drives it makes me want to throw up.”
阿姨開車一腳剎車一腳油的，最後一個急剎車，到家了 。。
Mark’s aunt went heavy on the brakes and the accelerator, finally with a sudden brake, it was home…
馬克一進門把書包重重一扔。
Mark walked in and thumped his bag on the ground.
“哼！”
“Harumph!”
“嘿，寶貝。”
“Hey baby.”
“恩恩。。。。”
“Mmmmm”
“今天發生什麼事啦？”
“What happened today?”
“哎呀，我不想說。”
“Oh, I don’t want to talk about it.”
“沒關係，不想說話，來和媽媽一起喝茶吧？”
“That’s OK, if you don’t want to talk, come have tea with mummy?”
“我不要。”
“I don’t want to.”
媽媽拿出一隻杯子，放進幾顆玫瑰花，幾片檸檬。倒上水。
Mum took out a cup, put in some rose petals and lemons, then poured water in.
然後她對著杯子大喊：“啊~滾蛋吧，賬單！滾蛋吧，家務活兒！”
Then she shouted at the cup: “Oh go away, bills! Get lost, housework!”
馬克嚇了一跳，愣愣地看著媽媽。
Mark was stunned and stared at mum.
“好吧，該你啦。”
“OK, your turn.”
馬克接過杯子，吸了一口氣：“滾蛋吧，數學題！滾蛋吧，小花牛！”
Mark accepted the cup, breathed in: “Go away, maths problems! Get lost, spotted calf!”
媽媽對著桌子使勁拍了三下。
Mum thumped the table three times, hard.
馬克也拍了三下。
Mark thumped three times too.
“滾蛋吧，腰痛病！”
“Get lost, back ache!”
“滾蛋吧，情書！”
“Go away, love letter!”
“滾蛋吧，煩惱！”
“Get lost, troubles!”
“滾蛋吧，不高興！”
“Go away, upset!”
“媽媽我們喝的這是什麼茶啊？”
“Mum what is this tea we’re drinking?”
“這叫消氣茶。”
“It’s called “de-angry” tea.
這樣，馬克和媽媽度過了愉快的傍晚。
That was how Mark and mum spent a happy evening.
