The 18th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was successfully held from June 9th to June 10th, 2018 in Qingdao city, Shandong Province, China. LI Baodong, Secretary General of the Boao Forum for Asia, expressed his congratulations on the fruitful outcome of the SCO Summit.
LI Baodong pointed out that the “Shanghai Spirit” of mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation, respect for diverse civilizations and pursuit of common development, is the core value of the SCO and will have a positive and far-reaching impact on the construction of new type of international relations among countries. Only through win-win cooperation can we make big and good and sustainable achievements that are beneficial to all, which is the essence of the great initiative of a community with a shared future for humanity.It is the business of the international community to push forward the reform of the global governance system. The principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits is conducive to translating the proposition into consensus and forming concerted action.
LI Baodong stressed that the Boao Forum for Asia, together with the SCO and other international organizations, will actively promote the building of a community of common destiny in Asia and a community with a shared future for humanity as well as promoting the common prosperity of China and the world.
