enjoy，like，love和prefer 都可表達“喜愛”的意思，但含義和用法有所不同。
enjoy在意義上側重於“享受某種樂趣”，後接名詞或動名詞作賓語，不能接不定式。enjoy還可以與反身代詞連用，即“enjoy oneself”，表示“玩得很高興”（= have a good time）
The man is enjoying his dinner. 那個男人正津津有味地吃飯。
My father enjoys listening to the radio. 我父親愛聽廣播。
Did the children enjoy themselves in the park? 孩子們在公園裡玩得愉快嗎？
like意為“喜歡、喜愛”，是一般用語，主要是指對某人或某物產生好感或發生興趣，不帶有感情色彩，後面可接名詞、代詞、動名詞、動詞不定式作賓語。
Everyone in China likes Mid-Autumn Day. 在中國，每個人都喜歡中秋節。
He
likes his students to work hard. 他喜歡他的學生努力學習。love表示“愛、熱愛、愛戴”，有強烈的感情，相當於like…very much，側重於對祖國及較親近的人的深厚感情。在口語中它往往又指一般的喜愛，這時與like的意思相近，可以互換。後面也可以接名詞、動名詞或動詞不定式。
We love our motherland. 我們熱愛我們的祖國。
They love playing/to play basketball. 他們愛打籃球。
like和love都可與would，should連用，表示“願意做某事”。
I’d like/love to go with you. 我願意和你們一起去。
prefer意為“（比較）喜歡、寧願”，相當於like…better，它的“喜歡”是帶有選擇性的，是在比較的情況下選擇出來的，其後接名詞、代詞、動名詞或不定式。
I prefer going by bike. 我寧願騎車去。
He prefers to work alone. 他喜歡獨自工作。
prefer常用於prefer…to… 結構中，意為“喜歡……而不喜歡……、寧願……而不……”，其中to是介詞，prefer與to後都接名詞或動名詞。
I prefer foreign languages to maths. 外語和數學相比，我更喜歡外語。
He prefer doing to talking. 他喜歡做而不喜歡說。

like後接動名詞和動詞不定式時意義稍有不同，前者表示對某種活動具有比較持久的愛好，成為習慣性動作；後者只表示對某一次具體活動的愛好。
