1946年7月19日，瑪麗蓮·夢露第一次到20世紀福克斯，開始出演電影。夢露參與拍攝影片《夜闌人未靜》。1950年，夢露出演了《火球》和《彗星美人》。1952年5月7日，夢露首次成為《生活》雜誌的封面人物，並於同年10月4日成為影片《如何嫁給一個百萬富翁》一片的女主角。
1962年8月5日，夢露在洛杉磯布萊登木寓所的臥室內被發現已經去世，終年36歲。夢露之死成為未解之迷。

1、Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.
翻譯：不完美是一種美，瘋狂是一種天分，不靠譜總好過無聊至極。
2、Fame will go by, and so long. I've had the fame. If it goes by, I've always known it was fickle, so at least it's something I experienced but that's not where I live.

3、I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

4、Fame doesn't fulfill you. It warms you a bit, but that warmth is temporary.

5、We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets.
