be to do和be about to do都可以表示将来时，区别在哪里呢？
我们先来看几个例句。
What am I to do? 我该做什么呢？（表示职责）
You are to deliver these flowers before 10.（表示义务）
The president is to visit China next week.（表示计划）
You are to arrive there tomorrow.（表示约定）
Now ladies and gentlemen, you are about to hear the most incredible tale.
女士们，先生们，你们马上将要听到一个令人难以相信的故事。
Don't go out. We are about to have supper.
不要出去了，我们马上就要吃晚饭了。
The plane is about to take off.
飞机就要起飞了。
Be quiet,please. The game is about to start.
请安静，比赛马上开始。
通过以上的例句，我们不难看出:
be to do 表示计划、约定或按职责、义务必要做的事情。它强调客观安排或受人指示而做某事。
理解关键：计划、约定、职责、义务
be about to do 表示不久或即将发生的动作，一般不与时间状语连用。
理解关键：不久、马上发生
