God fell across（遇到） a puzzle when he created the world. Thinking over and over, he decided to listen to the archangels（大天使）' views.

上帝在創造世界的時候，碰上一道難題。他想來想去，還是決定聽聽大天使們的看法。

After the summoned（召集） archangels arrived, God asked them, “Tell me, where should I put the secret of life?”

他召集大天使前來，問道：“你們說我應該把生命的秘密放在哪兒好啊？”

“Bury it in the ground,” an archangel replied. “Put it at the bottom of sea,” another said. “Hide it on the high mountain,” the third suggested.

“埋在地裡。”一個大天使說。 “放入海底。”另一個說。 “藏在高山上。”第三個說。

God shook his head and said, “If I do as you suggest, there will be a small group of people who can find it. But my original purpose is to let everyone find the secret of life!”

上帝搖搖頭，說：“要是按你們說的做，能夠找得到的只會是一小部分人。可我的初衷是想讓每個人都找到生命的秘密啊！”

After a long silence, an archangel suddenly said, “I know. Put it into everyone's heart. As long as he's willing to seek for it, anyone can find it.”

沉默良久，一個大天使突然說：“有了，把它放進人心裡吧。只要肯找，每個人都找得到。”

“Yes!” God said in delight, “Put it in everyone's heart.” Then the secret of life lies in everyone's heart.

“對啊！”上帝喜從中來，“那就放進每個人的心裡。” 於是，生命的秘密自在人心。

大天使(Archangel)一詞源於希臘文，指“主要的信使”，常見於基督教、伊斯蘭教、猶太教等宗教傳統之中。基督教中大天使的出場可以追溯到《聖經·啟示錄》中記載著的“神的御座前有七名天使侍立”。關於大天使的數量和姓名，各個宗教及其不同派系有著較大的差別，但是一般都認為大天使除了賜福以外，還擔負著監督凡間或是引領善良人的靈魂進入天堂等責任。
