注意in spite of與regardless of 的區別
in spite of：不顧；雖然，儘管…，一般是主觀上故意去忽視，有時往往是好的條件、因素，或他人的建議，很可能導致不好的結果。
regardless of：不管，不顧；無；不拘，一般用於客觀上無法避免的事實，往往是不利的條件，因素，需要主語去正確面對和處理。

注意stand for多用在抽象物體代表；represent 多用來指實體代表。

這兩者為反義詞，易混淆需注意。
appeal to 呼籲；上訴；對……有吸引力
appeal to sb./sth. against sth上訴,申訴
appeal to sb. 也可表示：對……有吸引力,有感染力
近義詞的attract 後面不能直接to，因為attract是及物動詞，一般用法是: attract sb. to sth. ;
attract 的另一個搭配是：be attracted to

instead of 是介賓短語，其意與instead相同，不同之處在於instead of後常接賓語，多由名詞、代詞、介詞、短語、動詞+ing形式充當。
例如：If I hadn't got a cold I'd be working instead of lying here in bed.
天下的好事不會到盡頭，壞事也不會到盡頭，好壞之間，自然有轉圜。

需要注意的是，so和neither引導的倒裝句，既可以位於句首開頭，也可以也可以由並列連詞連接，作為並列句緊跟前句。如：

*使用so還是neither取決於前句話是肯定句還是否定句；
*無論前句話是肯定句還是否定句，so和neither引導的倒裝句都是肯定句，由neither引導的倒裝句不能再加not；

view較sight和vision書面化，是其中唯一指視野清晰程度的詞。
vision總是與物主代詞連用：

vision不與介詞in、into和out of連用，但sight和view常與這些介詞連用。
