這是一本給孩子英語啟蒙非常經典的繪本。
雖然是一個毛毛蟲變成蝴蝶的簡單故事，但融會了“數量”、“星期”、“食物”的詞彙學習，還有生命科學的滲透、健康飲食的概念，是一本適用於多個主題學習的故事書。
故事從月光下的一顆蟲卵開始，剛出生的小毛毛蟲總是感到很飢餓，它一路爬一路吃，每天都吃下不同的東西。
最後毛毛蟲變得又大又胖，還為自己蓋了一個房子。2個星期後，它“破繭成蝶”，變成了一隻漂亮的蝴蝶！
此外，這是一本洞洞書，每頁的食物上面都有一個小洞，看上去就像被毛毛蟲啃了一遍。共讀時，孩子們會忍不住用手指頭挖這些洞，就像毛毛蟲一樣，形象又有趣。
下面我就帶大家一起讀一讀這本書吧：
In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.
月光下，有一個小小的卵躺在一片葉子上。
One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and--pop!--
out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.
週日的早晨，溫暖的太陽昇起來。嘭！
一隻很小的飢餓的毛毛蟲從卵裡鑽了出來。
He started to look for some food.
他開始去找一些食物。
On Monday he ate through one apple, but he was still hungry.
星期一，它吃了一個蘋果，但是他還是很餓。
On Tuesday he ate through two pears, but he was still hungry.
星期二，它吃了兩個梨，但是他還是很餓。
On Wednesday he ate through three plums, but he was still hungry.
星期三，它吃了三顆李子，但是他還是很餓。
On Thursday he ate through four strawberries, but he was still hungry.
星期四，他吃了四顆草莓，但是他還是非常餓。
On Friday he ate through five oranges, but he was still hungry.
星期五，他吃了五個橘子，但是他還是非常餓。
On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon. That night he had a stomachache!
星期六，他吃了一塊巧克力蛋糕、一個甜筒、一塊泡菜、一塊瑞士奶酪、 一片香腸、一個棒棒糖、一塊櫻桃餡餅、一個熱狗、一個紙杯蛋糕和一片西瓜。那天晚上它就肚子疼了！
The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better.
第二天又到了星期天了。毛毛蟲吃了一片新鮮的綠葉子，然後他感覺好多了。
Now he wasn’t hungry any more --
and he wasn’t a little caterpillar any more. He was a big, fat caterpillar.
現在它終於不再餓了——
而且它再也不是一隻小毛毛蟲，他成了一隻又大又胖的毛毛蟲了。
He built a small house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks. Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and…
它建造了一座小房子，稱作“繭"，包裹著他，他在裡面待了超過兩週的時間。然後它在繭裡咬了一個小洞，讓自己往外掙脫……
He was a beautiful butterfly!
它變成了一隻美麗的蝴蝶啦！
這本書可以延伸出“數學”、“飲食”、“手工”等不同類型的遊戲，是一本多元主題繪本，也是很多幼兒園和英語老師的必讀繪本哦！希望你喜歡今天的分享～
