respect，都知道是“尊重”的意思，但是加上不同的後綴，腦袋就方了，一不小心了就會錯了意，小編在這裡捋一捋。
respectable，體面的，可敬的，不錯的，可觀的
They are a respectable married couple. 他們是一對正派夫妻。
She came from a highly respectable middle-class background. 她來自聲譽頗高的中產階級背景。
There was a respectable crowd at the match. 有不少人到場觀看比賽。
He earns a respectable salary. 他有可觀的收入。
respective，各自的
They parted and went their respective ways. 他們分道揚鑣後各奔前程。
They chatted about their respective parents. 他們聊各自的父母。
respectful，尊重（他人）的
She is always respectful and obedient. 她總是尊重他人，溫順乖巧。
He gave a presentation in a respectful manner. 他以謙恭的姿勢發表了演講。
這裡面容易搞混的是respectable和respective，它倆所描述的重點不一樣，respectable指本人為人高尚，受人尊敬，respective指本人是個謙恭的人，懂得尊重他人。
Do not ask people to respect you, there are respectful things you can do to be respectable.
不要要求別人尊重你(respect)，要想受人敬重（respectable），首先要尊重他人（respectful）。
