respect，都知道是“尊重”的意思，但是加上不同的后缀，脑袋就方了，一不小心了就会错了意，小编在这里捋一捋。
respectable，体面的，可敬的，不错的，可观的
They are a respectable married couple. 他们是一对正派夫妻。
She came from a highly respectable middle-class background. 她来自声誉颇高的中产阶级背景。
There was a respectable crowd at the match. 有不少人到场观看比赛。
He earns a respectable salary. 他有可观的收入。
respective，各自的
They parted and went their respective ways. 他们分道扬镳后各奔前程。
They chatted about their respective parents. 他们聊各自的父母。
respectful，尊重（他人）的
She is always respectful and obedient. 她总是尊重他人，温顺乖巧。
He gave a presentation in a respectful manner. 他以谦恭的姿势发表了演讲。
这里面容易搞混的是respectable和respective，它俩所描述的重点不一样，respectable指本人为人高尚，受人尊敬，respective指本人是个谦恭的人，懂得尊重他人。
Do not ask people to respect you, there are respectful things you can do to be respectable.
不要要求别人尊重你(respect)，要想受人敬重（respectable），首先要尊重他人（respectful）。
