你戴手錶嗎？估計不帶。三十年前可能誰也想不到手機時代最大的受害者是手錶製造商。我們今天講的這個話題跟手錶有關，準確地說是跟時間有關。
講一個名人的故事。
此人姓蘭巴迪，名文斯，(Vince Lombardi). 在美國無人不知無人不曉。你隨便問一個美國人，即便他不知道邁克爾喬丹或科比，也一定會知道這位傳奇神仙級人物文斯·蘭巴迪。（為行文之便，下文中皆以Lombardi代稱Vince Lombardi）。
美國的國球是橄欖球，俗稱美式足球(American football)。生於1913年的Lombardi在1930年代成為美國橄欖球專業運動員和教練。他輝煌人生的巔峰不是作運動員，而是教練。
1960年代七年間，他帶領美國威斯康辛州的綠灣包裝工人隊（the Green Bay Packers)拿了美國職業橄欖球大聯盟(NFL)三連冠，一共五次冠軍。1967年和1968年的頭兩屆超級碗(Super Bowl)均為這支球隊獲得。
超級碗是美國職業橄欖球賽的最高榮譽獎盃，類似足球世界盃的大力神杯。1970年9月，Lombardi死於癌症。NFL於是決定把超級碗獎盃命名為the Lombardi Trophy（蘭巴迪杯）。
The Vince Lombardi Trophy is the trophy awarded each year to the winning team of the National Football League's championship game, the Super Bowl.
就是這麼一個超級大神。
關於Lombardi有很多傳奇故事，其中流傳最廣的是他對時間的要求。
在他傳奇的執教生涯中，他始終要求所有隊員必須提前15分鐘到達會議或約會現場。如果5點開會，你必須4:45之前到。如果你5點準時到，you are late. 這就是蘭巴迪時間，the Lombardi time.
他的手錶永遠比實際時間早15分鐘。
Lombardi always taught his players and coaching staff they should arrive fifteen minutes early to a meeting or an appointment. This extra time allows you to prepare and collect your thoughts. If a team meeting started at 5:00, Lombardi expected everyone to be present at 4:45. If a player arrived on time, he was late. Many of former Green Bay players and coaching assistants claimed that “Lombardi Time” taught them discipline and helped them to appreciate how the value of their time.
蘭巴迪時間的理念後來被很多MBA教程吸收，成了很多成功人士終生堅持的習慣。
Operate on Lombardi time.
Be on time, Lombardi time.
這兩句話成了職場上非常高端的兩個口號。
