狀語是修飾動詞的動作的。顧名思義，方式狀語修飾的是動作的方式 。
方式狀語有三種形式：
- 副詞
- 短語
- 從句
方式狀語副詞
表示做事的方式的副詞，如badly, carefully, eagerly, happily, sadly等。
- She checked the documents carefully. 她小心地檢查了文檔 (how did she check the documents?)。
- They lived happily ever after. 他們之後幸福生活在一起。（how did they live?）

方式狀語引導詞有as if/though, as 和 the way， 用來表示動作的方式
As if/though
- He spoke with Li Ming happily as if they had been friends for many years. 他快樂得和李明說話，好像他們是多年的老朋友。
As
- You should do the homework as I taught you. 你應該按我教你的方法做作業。
The way
- You should live your life the way your elder brother did. 你應該和你的哥哥一樣生活。
