每次写作文的时候，好像都是用“I,I,I”来开头，读起来无趣又无聊。其实英文中主语的选取也是非常有讲究的！选的好了别人会看不出你是“中国英语”的~

不是用了“高端”的词，
雅思作文就能有高分的！
很多考雅思的同学们都想着能用上几个高大上的词语，背几个高大上的句子，雅思作文的得分就能高点儿。
但，其实没这么简单。
雅思作文评分标准涉及多个方面：比如对写作任务的回应，语篇结构的逻辑性、句型结构的多样性以及用词的准确性。所以词只是很小的一部分。
今天VPEA的资深雅思老师来给大家聊聊：如何选取主语，才能让句子“更英语”呢？

主语“逻辑关系”不清不楚
案例句子
句子一：
Reading can gain knowledge.
↓ 修改为 ↓
One can gain knowledge through reading. Reading helps one to gain knowledge.
VPEA解析
这个句子犯了逻辑问题。
读书是一种方式或途径，而增长知识的是人，所以要改成以上两种句子。
句子二：
His life had more than a thousand inventions.
↓ 修改为 ↓
He had more than a thousand inventions in his life.
VPEA解析
这个句子也是犯了逻辑问题。
正确的逻辑是某人(在他的一生中)有过一千多项发明，因此改成后面的句子。

主语要适当的写为“被动语态”
案例句子
句子三：
Everyone considers that he is unwise to do so.
↓ 修改为 ↓
It is generally considered unwise for him to do so.
句子四：
Someone is asking for you downstairs.
↓ 修改为 ↓
You are wanted downstairs.
VPEA解析
这两个句子的问题是：主语是个不确定的信息。当主语是个不确定的人，这时句子应改用被动语态。

用主语突出需要强调的内容
案例句子
句子五：
I found a dark stain on the new carpet.
↓ 修改为 ↓
A dark stain caught my attention.
A dark stain caught my eyes.
句子六：
I thought of my happy childhood when I saw the children playing on the grass
↓ 修改为 ↓
The sight of children playing on the grass sent me back to my happy childhood.
VPEA解析
这两个句子理论上讲也无大碍，只是如果想表达的更地道，建议分别改成后面两种句子。
因为英语主语的选择其中有一个原则是：主语必须是句子中应该突出的信息。

雅思作文中应该怎么应用主语？
学生案例
学生文章：
In this competitive world, there are always some people who fail and others who make success. There are two secrets to success. Being unremitting is the first secret. …
↓ 修改为 ↓
The first secret is being unremitting.
VPEA解析
主语在一个句子中应该是关键信息（除了”it“做形式主语），同时在语义上衔接前后句子，如果是topic sentence 中的主语应该是引领整段的话题。
改过之后的句子可以和前一句的“two secrets” 语义上连接起来了。因此主语不是随便写的，都有“奥秘”在里面。
