英語中有一些詞彙看起來非常簡單，
但組合起來使用卻會讓英語變得十分地道，
今天的節目就來說說這些short&sweet的短語。
今天給大家介紹的都是“A和B”這種結構的短語：
- A & B phrases: two words, with an and
在使用時一定要注意，不能隨意改變兩個詞的順序，或是替換成其它詞語。
#1 Short and Sweet
形容這些簡單又實用的短語就可以說：
- Short and sweet: 少而精，簡潔明瞭
- I've got a few announcements, but I'll keep it short and sweet. 我有幾個事情要說，但是我會盡量言簡意賅。
#2 Cut and Dry
相反，很冗長的事物就會讓我們覺得乏味:
- Cut and dry: 乏味的，無聊的
- The lecture was, as usual, cut and dry. 講座一如既往地乏味。
#3 Quick and Easy
形容一件事情很容易做，並且做起來很快：
- Quick and easy: 快速簡便
- I have some quick and easy recipes for breakfast. 我知道一些快速簡便的早餐食譜。
#4 Black and White
談論人生的時候，想要表達很多事情沒有那麼絕對，不是那麼非黑即白，很多時候是in between，我們可以用這個短語：
- Black and white: 非常清楚，黑白分明
- It's not all black and white, you know. 你要知道並非所有的事情都是非黑即白的。
#5 Hit and Miss
和人生相關的另一個短語是：
- Hit and miss: 擊中或失球，比喻一個不確定的狀態，時而好時而不好，偶然隨意
- The trains are often late, so getting to work on time is a fairly hit and miss affair. 火車經常晚點，所以準時上班這件事就看運氣了。
#6 Apples and Oranges
你不能隨便比較兩個東西，它們是完全獨立的兩個事物，各有各的優劣：
- Apples and oranges: 蘋果和桔子，指兩件性質不同的事物，沒有可比性
- You are comparing apples and oranges.你對比的是兩件完全不同的事情。
#7 Bread and Butter
另一個和吃相關的短語是：
- Bread and butter: 麵包和黃油，指你賴以生存的事物，比如工作，特殊的技能
- I can't miss another day of work. That's my bread and butter.我不能再上班缺勤了，那可是我的飯碗。
#8 Trial and Error
- Trial and error: /traɪəl/ /ˈer.ɚ/ 字面意思是嘗試和錯誤，表示試錯
- There's no instant way, it's just a process of trial and error.沒有快速的方法，這就是一個試錯的過程。
#9 Tried and Tested
- Tried and tested: 驗證過的，證明是好的
這個短語往往跟著第三個詞true，表示真實的，可靠的:
- We know our process is tried, tested, and true. 我們知道我們的方法是可靠的。
#10 Safe and Sound
- Safe and sound: 安然無恙，平安無事
一個人乘坐飛機，抵達之後可以這樣對關心你的人報一聲平安：
- I arrived safe and sound. 我平安抵達。
#11 Come and Go
這個短語經常讓人聯想起生活在大城市中來來往往的人們，沒有什麼是持久的，體現流動性很大。可以形容潮汐（tide）潮流（ trend） 風格（style）朋友（ friends）等等。
- Come and go: 來來去去
- People come and go，but diamond lasts forever. 人總是來來去去，但鑽石恆久遠。
#12 Done and Done
- Done and done: 完成，搞定
這個短語可以放在一件事情的最後，表示結束了，做好了：
- Done and done, let's go home. 結束了，回家吧。
如果老闆給你下達了一個任務，你也可以用這個短語表示信心很足，程度很深：
- Can you do this？你能做這個嗎？
- Done and done= Yes, I can 放心吧，我能搞定
#13 Through and Through
另一個表示程度很深的短語是：
- Through and through: 完全，徹頭徹尾的
- Love someone through and through 深深地愛著某人
#14 Fast and Furious
最後這個既是實用的短語也是一部非常成功的電影名
- Fast and furious: 飛快地，電影《速度與激情》
- When she told her parents about quitting job, their reaction was fast and furious. 當她告訴父母辭職的事時，他們的反應迅速又激烈。
