another, other, (the) other, (the) others其实几乎就和其它普通的名词代词一样用，只需以定冠词the表特指为抓手，就能秒懂并彻底掌握它们的用法。

“the other＋单数名词(=the other)”“另一个”，特指（谈论的事物中）剩下的唯一一个。

the other=the other＋单数名词，反之亦然。换句话说，the other＋单数名词，其名词可省。

One of your socks is here, where is the other one? 你的一只袜子在这儿，还有只在哪儿？（当然问的是两只袜子中剩下的唯一一只)。

I have three pencils, one is blue, one is red, ______is yellow.我有三支铅笔，一支蓝的，一支红的，另一支黄的。(特指三只中最后剩下的唯一一支用the other (one/pencil).

“the other＋复数名词(=the others)”“另外那些，其它那些”，特指（谈论的事物中）剩下的那些（剩下的全部）。

Jim and Kate are going boating, what about the others(the other kids)? Jim和Kate要去划船，别的人呢(特指除Jim, Kate之外，剩下来的全部孩子）

Just you and Ros are here, where are ______?就你和Rose在这儿，别的人哪儿去了？(特指你和Kate之外，其他所有人在哪儿，用the others)

如果谈论任意的另一个(非剩下的唯一一个)，不定数目中的另一个用another（another来自an+other，a/an表泛指，但不能写作an other）。

another=another+单数可数名词，即another可作人称代词也可作形容词用，后面可跟单数名词也可单独使用。

They have kicked another goal. 他们又进了一个球了（不定数目之“又一个，另一个”）

You've broken my pen, but don't worry, I have ______.你把我的笔弄坏了，但别急，我还有一支(不定数目之“又一个，另一个”用another ＜或another one/pen＞)

如果谈论任意的“另外的那些，别的那些”(非剩下的全部)，用other＋复数名词（=others)(other后跟不可数名词时不可写为others，因为others是复数）。

If you are in trouble, you can ask your parents, your friends or others (other people) for help.如果你遇到麻烦，你可以向父母，朋友或别的人求助（非特指parents, friends之外剩下的所有人，故不用the others而用others）

----Some are flying kites, ______are boating. （公园里不可能除了放风筝的，剩下的全部都在划船，所以不用the others＜＝the other people＞，而用others＜=other people＞）
