【什麼是颱風？】
Typhoon is a kind of tropical hurricane. The tropical hurricane is categorized in accordance the location： Cyclone (Australian and South of Earth)， Hurricanes (in eastern International Dateline)， and Typhoon (western Pacific Ocean and China Sea) every typhoon has its own name in alphabetic order. The main damages are caused by flood， roofing materials.
颱風是一種熱帶風暴。這種熱帶風暴根據發生的地點不同被分為：旋風（澳大利亞和南半球），颶風（日界線以東地區），和颱風（西太平洋和中國海）每一種颱風都有一個確切的名字，每一個名字都是按字母順序排列。最具威脅性的就是飛物，結構的破壞和洪水。
【颱風的分類】
Tropical low pressure： the speed of the wind is not less than 33kts per hour. The tropical low pressure can strengthen to violent wind， which is not destructive with a speed of 33kts per hour. But the typhoon-warning centre will sound the alarm when the speed is up to 25kts.
熱帶低氣亞：持續的風時速不低於33kts（海里）。熱帶低氣壓能發展成為強大的風暴，但時速33kts（海里）時不會給地面造成威脅。然而，當熱帶低氣壓風時速達到25kts（海里）時，颱風警報中心會發出警報。
Tropical storm： the speed of which ranges from 34kts to 63kts.

【如何防颱風】
Stay indoors and keep calm.
儘量不要出門。並且保持鎮靜。
Keep informed. Listen to the radio or watch TV to get weather updates. In case of power failures， keep a battery-operated radio handy (with extra batteries).
保持消息暢通。注意廣播或電視裡的天氣情況播報。準備一個可以用電池的收音機（還有備用電池）以防斷電。
Prepare candles and flashlights. Stock up on food， potable water， batteries and first-aid supplies.
準備蠟燭和手電筒。儲備食物，飲用水，電池和急救用品。
Secure or move inside outdoor items such as toys， bicycles， furniture， plants and anything moveable on the balcony. Move potted plants and other heavy objects away from windows inside as well.
固定或收回屋外、陽臺上的一切可移動物品，包括玩具、自行車、傢俱、植物等等。將盆栽或其他重物搬離窗戶。
Watch for leaks around windows and doors. If the wind is strong enough， water may be blown into your home even if the windows are closed. Have handy towels， rags and mops.

If the storm becomes severe， move into a hallway or area where there is the least exposure to external glass windows.
