Molly：老师，刚刚对话里是不是出现了很多感叹句的用法啊？
老师：What a clever girl you are!
Molly: 它们的结构和你说的句子很相似呢！
老师：没错！英语中感叹句通常由疑问词what和how引起，what和how与所修饰的词置于句首，其他部分采用陈述句语序。今天我们先来学习其中的一种表达方式——What引导的感叹句。
Molly：好的，老师。
老师：在What引导的感叹句中，What表达“多么”的含义，用作定语，修饰名词。我们以对话里的几组句子为例，来分析一下它的句型结构。
（1）
What a cool day! 多凉爽的天啊！
What a clever girl you are! 多聪明的女孩啊！
What an interesting story it is! 多有趣的故事啊！
（2）
What beautiful weather we have! 多好的天气啊！
What tall trees they are! 多高的树啊！
What clear water! 多清澈的水啊！
Molly，发现what引导的这些感叹句有什么共同特点吗？
Molly：它们好像都包含了一个名词
（在六个句子中，单词day、girl、story、weather、trees、water）老师：没错。在what引导的感叹句中，what作定语，用来对句中某一名词或名词短语进行感叹。你能根据这两组句子，帮老师总结一下它的句型结构吗？
Molly: 是 What（+ 形容词）+ 名词/名词短语 +主语 + 谓语！
老师：Very good! 而由于名词类型的不同，此类结构又可细分以下几种情况：
（1）当What修饰单数可数名词(或有形容词修饰的名词短语)时，名词前需加不定冠词a/an。
如：
What a pity! 真遗憾！
What a cool day! 多凉爽的天啊！
What an interesting story it is! 多有趣的故事啊！
（2）当What修饰复数可数名词/不可数名词(或有形容词修饰的名词短语)时，名词前不使用冠词。如：
What noise they are making! 他们的噪音真吵！
What beautiful weather we have! 多好的天气啊！
What clear water! 多清澈的水啊！
Molly：我明白了，老师。
老师：这类句子结构，在口语中，有时也可省去主语和谓语，如刚才的句子：
What a cool day (it is)! 多凉爽的天啊！
Molly：知道啦，老师。
老师：此外，还有一些不可数名词，如rain、surprise、breakfast、lunch等，当前面有形容词修饰，使抽象名词具体化时是单数概念，仍需使用What a/an结构。
（3）不可数名词，如rain、surprise……
如：
What a heavy rain it is! 多大的一场雨啊！
What a great surprise it is! 这多令人吃惊啊！
What a rich breakfast it is! 多么丰盛的一顿早餐啊！
