我們常常說不能掉入中式英語的陷阱裡，畢竟用中式思維在表達英語的時候總是會出現一些邏輯上的問題。

但是，語言畢竟還是有共通性的，有些表達咱們漢語這麼說，英文表達也是那麼個意思，說著說著就配對成功了，比如long time no see（好久不見）！

這一期我們來分享一下還有哪些有趣實用且配對成功的“中式英文”。

1）“潑冷水”英語怎麼說？

先用中式思維思考下，如果你把“潑冷水”說成“pour cold water”，你英語學得很到位哦！真的很到位，英語就是這麼說的。

一般情況下，完整地表達“潑冷水”，可以說：Pour / throw cold water on sth.；

也可以說cast a damp over sth.（cast是投擲，damp是潮溼或失望），你對某事“投出失望”，就是“潑冷水”嘛！

英語例句：

① My mom poured cold water on my plan because she said I couldn't play games tonight.

我老媽對我的計劃潑了冷水，因為她說我今晚不能玩遊戲。

② Adam threw cold water on the project by refusing any suggestions.

亞當通過拒絕任何建議來對這個計劃潑了冷水。

2）“大熒幕”用英語怎麼說？

看到“大熒幕”，首先想到了啥？大是big，熒幕是screen，那“大熒幕”不就是“big screen”嘛！沒錯哦！

“大熒幕”是the big screen.

Big screen means the films that are made for cinema rather than for television，也就是指那些為了在電影院上映而製作的大屏幕電影，而不是在電視上放映的。

英語例句：

① The new action movie will hit the big screen next Sunday.

新的動作片將在下週日在電影院上映。

② A famous television star made her debut on the big screen last night.

昨晚上，一個著名的電視明星首次在大熒幕上亮相了。

3）“花錢如流水”用英語怎麼說？

“花錢”是spend money，“如流水”是like water，沒錯，“花錢如流水”的英語表達就是“spend money like water”，非常容易記住吧！

Spend money like water means spend money excessively or wastefully，也就是過度地或者浪費地花費錢財。

英語例句：

① Adam has been a penny-pincher for many years，but now he spends money like water，maybe he won a lottery lately.

亞當做了很多年的守財奴了，但是他現在花錢如流水，也許是他剛剛中大獎了吧。

② Hey buddy，you shouldn’t spend money like water when you are single，or maybe you will be single forever.

嘿，夥計，你單身的時候別花錢如流水啊，不然的話也許你永遠是條單身狗。
