1. 祈使句的概念
表示請求、命令、建議、祝願、邀請或要求的句子叫祈使句。用於祈使句句首的動詞總是用原形，不能用其他形式。如：
Shut the door!
把門關上!
Have a cup of coffee!
喝杯咖啡吧!
Let them go by train.
叫他們坐火車去吧。
祈使句的主語通常為第二人稱(you)，但一般都被省略，只有在特殊的情況下才把主語(you)補充出來。如：
You be quiet!
你安靜!
You go and tell him, Chris.
克立斯，你去告訴他。
You wait here for a moment.
你在這兒等一會兒。
有時祈使句的主語也可以是everybody, somebody, anybody, nobody等不定代詞。如：
Stand up, everybody!
全體起立!
Nobody move.
任何人都不許動。
2. 祈使句表示強調
為了加強祈使句的語氣，我們通常是在祈使句的動詞原形前加上助動詞do，此時通常譯為"一定""務必"等。如：
Do be careful.
務必要小心。
Do let me go.
一定讓我去。
副詞never和always有時可用於祈使句句首，表示強調。如：
Never do that again.
再不要這樣做了。
Always look in the mirror before starting to drive.
一定要先看看反光鏡再開車。
3. 祈使句的否定式
構成祈使句否定式的方法很簡單，那就是在動詞原形前加don't——不管祈使句所用的動詞為什麼性質動詞，情況都是一樣。如：
Open the window.
把窗戶打開。
Don't open the window.
別把窗戶打開。
Come next Monday.
下週星期一來。
對於以let us或let's開頭的祈使句，其否定式通常是在不定式之前放一個not。如：
Let's tell him the truth.
我們把實情告訴他吧。
Lets not tell him the truth.
我們不要把實情告訴他。
但在日常口語中，我們也可以把don't放在let's之前。如：
Let's don't tell him the truth.
我們不要把實情告訴他.
4. 祈使句與連用please
為了使祈使句的語氣變得委婉，我們可以在祈使句的句首或句末加上please——若加在句首，其後不用逗號；若加在句末，則通常會在please前加一個逗號。如：
Step this way, please.
請這邊走。
Please type your letter.
請把你的信打出來。
Open the window, please.
請把窗戶打開。
如果是否定祈使句，則通常將please加在don't之前。如：
Please don't get angry.
請不要生氣。
5. 祈使句的時間概念
祈使句所表示的時間總是指將來，所以與它連用的句子原則上要用將來時態來與它呼應。 如：
Give me a hand, will you?
幫我一個忙，好嗎?
由於give me a hand表示隱含將來意義，所以句中的will you 不能改為do you。
Try again and you will succeed.
你再試就會成功。
由於句中的try again隱含將來意義，所以句中用了you will succeed，而不是you succeed。
Don't do that again or you'll be in trouble.
別再幹那個了，否則你會有麻煩。
句中的don't do that again指的是以後不要再幹那事了，由於隱含有將來意義，所以句中用了you'll be in trouble，而沒有用you are in trouble。
6. 祈使句的省略
一般說來，祈使句總是要以動詞原形開頭，但是，在某些特殊情況下，我們可以只用一個詞或短語來表示祈使句的意義。如：
Just a few please.
請給幾個就行了。
A little more slowly please.
再慢一點。
A pound of butter.
給我一磅黃油。
Two teas and four coffees, please.
請來兩杯茶和四杯咖啡。
7. 注意：祈使句何時可以保留主語you
第1情況 為了有所區分，祈使句可以保留主語 you。如：
You go on; I'll wait.
你們先走，我等著。
You wait here for a moment.
你在這兒等一會兒。
You girls stand in the front row.
你們女孩子站在前排。
You play Romeo and you play Juliet.
你演羅蜜歐，你演朱麗葉。
You wait here, Jim, and Mary, you wait there.
你等在這兒，吉姆；瑪麗，你等在那兒。
第2種情況 為了表示生氣或有意表示無禮，祈使句可以保留主語 you。 如：
You be quiet!
你給我安靜!
You stop talking.
你給住嘴。
You get out of here!
你給我滾出去。
You do it right away.
你給我馬上就去做。
8. 祈使句備考注意
1. 祈使句主要用於提出請求，發出邀請，給予指示、忠告或警告，也可發出命令等。
2．祈使句的特點是：一般不出現主語(you)，但有時為了指明向誰請求或命令，也可以說出主語；謂語動詞一律用原形；否定式一律在動詞前面加 don't。如：
Come this way, madam.
這邊走，夫人。
Don't lose the key.
別把鑰匙丟了。
Someone fetch a pail of water.
誰去打一桶水來。
3.有關祈使句最可能涉及的考點是：祈使句帶主語以及"祈使句+and / then / or+陳述句"這一句型(祈使句表示條件)。另外，祈使句與反意疑問句一起考查也是高考一大特點。如：
Let's phone her now, shall we?
我們現在就給她打電話，好嗎?
You girls stand in the front row, will you?
你們女孩子站在前排，好嗎？
Work hard, and you'll pass the exam.
努力點，你會通過考試的。
9. 沒有動詞的祈使句
祈使句除用謂語動詞表示外，還可用名詞、形容詞、副詞等，如：
Help!救人喲!
Fire! 失火了!
Patience! 要有耐心!
Careful! 小心!
Quickly! 快!
Hands up! 舉起手來！
Good heavens! 天哪!
10."be+過去分詞"用於祈使句
be可以和少數過去分詞連用，用於祈使句當中。如：
Be prepared! 準備好!
Please be seated! (請)坐下!
Be warned! 該小心了!
11. "be+形容詞"用於祈使句
只有表示一時的行為的形容詞才可用於be / don't be之後，如careful / careless, patient / impatient, quiet, silly等(be / don't be通常不可與指狀態的形容詞連用，如hungry / thirsty, pretty)。如：
Be quiet! 安靜點！
Don't be silly! 不要發傻！
Do be patient. 一定要有耐心。
Be careful about what you say.
說話要小心。
Be more careful with your work.
你的工作要再細心一些。
Be careful not to break anything.
當心別打破什麼了。
Be sure you don't break any of them.
千萬別把它們打破了。
Be sure to write to ma as soon as you get there.
到了千萬給我來信。
Be sure and come as soon as possible.
一定要儘快來。
Be sure to send out all the invitations today.
一定要在今天把請帖都發出去。
12."be+名詞"用於祈使句
許多"be (肯定式) +名詞"結構是習慣用法
Be a man!
要做個男子漢!
Be an angel and fetch me my slippers please.
請行行好，把我的拖鞋拿來。
Go on! Have another slice! Be a devil!
繼續吃呀! 再來一片! 放開吃!
否定式的"Don't be+名詞"結構要常用得多，往往與(愚蠢的)行為有關。 如：
Don't be an ass / a clown / a fool / an idiot!
別當傻瓜 / 小丑 / 笨蛋 / 白痴!
請注意："be+形容詞+名詞"結構：
Be a good girl at sch001.Don't be a silly idiot!
在學校你要做個好姑娘。別當個傻瓜!
be可以表示"成為"之義，尤其在廣告中發。如：
Be a better cook! Be the envy of your friends!
你可當個好廚師! 你可成為你的朋友們羨慕的對象!
否定式don't be (=don't become) 常用於勸告。如：
Don't be a racing driver!
It's So dangerous.
別當賽車運動員!太危險了。
be還可以意謂"裝作"，特別是用在you後面。如：
(You) be the fairy godmother and I'll be Cinderella.
你裝仙姑，我裝灰姑娘。
Be a monster, granddad!
爺爺，你裝個妖怪!
要注意類似下面這樣的用法：
