No matter how mean your life is,meet it and live it ;do not shun it and call it hardnames.It is not so bad as you suppose.It looks poorest when you are richest.The fault-finder will find faults in paradise.Love your life,poor as it is.You may perhaps have some pleasant,thrilling, glorious hourss, even in a poor-house. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the alms-house as brightly as from the rich man's abode;the snow melts before its door as early in the spring.不論你的生活如何卑賤，你要面對它生活，不要躲避它，更別用惡言咒罵它。它不像你那樣壞。你最富有的時候，倒是看似最窮。愛找缺點的人就是到天堂裡也能找到缺點。你要愛你的生活，儘管它貧窮。甚至在一個濟貧院裡，你也還有愉快、高興、光榮的時候。夕陽反射在濟貧院的窗上，像身在富戶人家窗上一樣光亮；在那門前，積雪同在早春融化。
I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly there,and have as cheering thoughts,as in a palace.The town's poor seem to me often to live the most independent lives of any.May be they are simply great enough to receive without misgiving.Most think that they are above being supported by the town;but it often happens that they are not above supporting themselves by dishonest means.which should be more disreputable.我只看到，一個從容的人，在哪裡也像在皇宮中一樣，生活得心滿意足而富有愉快的思想。城鎮中的窮人，我看，倒往往是過著最獨立不羈的生活。也許因為他們很偉大，所以受之無愧。大多數人以為他們是超然的，不靠城鎮來支援他們；可是事實上他們是往往利用了不正當的手段來對付生活，他們是毫不超脫的，毋寧是不體面的。
Cultivate poverty like a garden herb,like sage.Do not trouble yourself much to get new things,whether clothes or friends,Turn the old,return to them.Things do not change;we change.Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts. 視貧窮如園中之花而像聖人一樣耕植它吧！不要找新的花樣，無論是新的朋友或新的衣服，來麻煩你自己。找舊的，回到那裡去。萬物不變，是我們在變。你的衣服可以賣掉，但要保留你的思想。

Today before you think of saying an unkind word, think of someone who can't speak. 如今，在你出言不遜前，想想那些身患啞疾的人吧。
Before you complain about the taste of your food, think of someone who has nothing to eat. 在抱怨事物不夠美味前，想想那些還在忍飢挨餓的人們吧。
Before you complain about your husband or wife, think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion. 在抱怨婚姻對象不盡如意時，想想那些還在為找不到對象而愁苦的人吧。
Today before you complain about life, think of someone who went too early to heaven. 在為生活的種種深感鬱悶前，想想那些早已離開人世的人吧。
Before you complain about your children, think of someone who desires children but they're barren. 在為孩子不聽話而氣惱前，想想那些不能生育而渴求孩子的人吧。
Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep, think of the people who are living in the streets. 在為房子沒人清潔打掃而發牢騷前，想想那些無家可歸的人吧。
Before whining about the distance you drive, think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet. 在抱怨行車旅途太長前，想想那些要走相同距離的徒步者吧。
And when you are tired and complain about your job, think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job. 在你感到疲憊，厭煩工作前，想想那些失業工人和殘疾人以及渴望有一份你這樣的工作的人吧。
But before you think of pointing your finger or condemning another, remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one maker. 在指責他人前，想想吧，人都不是完美的，我們都對上帝盡責。
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down, put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around. 當消極思維讓你深感沮喪時，微笑吧，並感謝上帝賜予你生命。
Life is a gift, enjoy it, celebrate it, and fulfill it... 生活是一份禮物，享受它，慶祝它，充實它。
And while you want to give love to someone today, love someone with what you do and the words you say.當你要向某人表達愛意，用你的言行去愛吧。
Love is not meant to be kept locked inside of us and hidden, so give it away" Give love to someone today!"愛並非要深藏於心底，表達出來吧，“現在就去愛！”
